Hello! The position of my web site changes everyday from 2 to 4 and back in Google. But today it changes down to 7. What is going on?
I have started to buy a links on some exchange but the amount of them is not huge. May be 50 for 3 years old web site. I have changes Headers for my articles three weeks before.
There are so many things that can change rank. Query freshness, personalised results, geolocation, which data centre you hit, etc. It could be as simple as that. Without knowing the site, keywords and how you're checking rank it's difficult to be specific. It could also be that Google has come to understand your activities and is ignoring some of the links. That's the risk you take though when going against their guidelines.
I got you. I used some special services to position. If i will tell you the name when it will make no difference for you. All from Russia. But the web site is kbrobot.ru
Spasiba, priyatel. "Special services"? Such as XRumer? Assuming it's the keyword I think it is, I see you at position #6 in Russia right now. Given the topic, it's very high competition and going to be subject to frequent change. Your competitors are probably investing a lot into SEO. First thing I would suggest is to evaluate your current SEO strategy - is it going to cause problems with any of the updates (such as Panda and Penguin)? Do you have backlinks from bad sources? If they are devalued then the weight you are getting becomes less. As a result, a lower rank. You want to try to avoid links from any sources that are heavily spammed, or this will happen (and it could be frequently). Some flux is normal, though. Udacha, comrade!
Due to update in Google many of the sites are affected. If you are checking your sites first please clear the cache of your PC and the check and let us know.
Thank you for your positive answer . I do not use Xrumer. Just bought some backlinks links on the exchange. Can google see that i am buying the external links? I had problems with Panda and Penguin half a year before. Some pages which had a lot of backlinks were moved from google. But this did not affect the main queries.
Google can guess (and they are getting better at it through their automated systems) about the intent behind a link. It can be based upon many factors: where the link is placed (a simple example is a blogroll or footer, but it can be cleverer than that), the site you've purchased it from (if the site has already been caught out for doing it, or if the site is having a lot of irrelevant links/content, etc). And think about how much you're paying out? I would say have a look through SEOmoz's blog (main blog and also YOUmoz) as it has some good strategies that won't cause such problems as paid links can. Are the majority of your links from Russian sites? (Not just .ru domains, but also language.)
Yes, the all links from russian sites. Thank you for your advises. I will check all of this blogs! I have already read the book WebCopy That sells by Velloso and it helped me to improve the quality of web site. But i suppose that problem is not only with competition. I think the problem with web site. For example, the fweb site on the first place looks worse. It had no updates. How i can find out which strategy use my competitors?
Hi qpile, If you want to check the Competitors of your website please check in keyword spay there will get all the information about our competitors what keywords they are using and which keywords they using for PPC,etc.
Check things like domain age, too, but if you want to review their backlinks then there are services such as opensiteexplorer.org, majesticseo.com, ahrefs.com and others. They are all paid, but OpenSiteExplorer.org provides some functionality for free. There are different views on researching the competition. I don't agree with the one "it's a waste of time". It's always a good idea to know who your competitors are and a bit about them. It's a bad idea to become obsessed, though. Always the most important strategy to pay attention to is your own. Good luck, mate.
Never do less quality backlink links, try to build pure and relevant backlinks, as google is very smart, everything can be caught by google, so be genuine, and build only quality backlinks.....Especially get guest post only on high quality relevant blogs.... Remove links from your low quality link exchange sites....and get link only from high Authority pages...
I think this is related with keyword popularity. You can check it them through Google webmaster. To improve this condition, you can solve with choose the related keyword to supporting that link was down.
Position didn't change every day in Google. If you're facing that problem then your website definitely goes to Google Sandbox or Google Dance. Otherwise Google change their algorithm and PR update after 2 to 3 months. You just have tp pay attention on your back-linking strategy
That is complete crap, positions can change during the day too (look up Query Freshness, for example). You should do some research on keyword/search position flux. I'll make it easy. Start here (a good piece of research into it): http://www.seomoz.org/blog/a-week-in-the-life-of-3-keywords
