So this afternoon i turn on the tv and flick through the music channels and everything is the same monotonous dance trash....its all the bloody same. I know there is amazing music out there, but it is so under represented by the media, its disgusting. Will it ever change?
For now? No. Teenagers and young adults these days are just too invested in lives filled with drugs and sex, especially because the only things mainstream songs sing about now are drinking alcohol (and "singers" seem to only know one type: Tequilla in the form of PATRON) and having sex with someone random that you just met on the dance floor. I mean look at the lyrics of the many overplayed songs. Katy Perry's song E.T. features the abduction of a woman by an alien that insists on having sex with her (it's gotten that bad ~_~). Pitbull? All he can do is say "DALE" (like it's the only word in Spanish that he knows), while his friend Ne-Yo goes up to a random girl, telling her to "give me everything tonight." And think about the singers themselves. Many of them can't actually sing anymore. You have Lil' John, Rebecca Black (lol), Black Eyed Peas, Akon, and many more top "artists" hiding behind computer generated chords, because all of them can't sing (maybe it's because they take too many SHOTS OF PATRON that their throats are hoarse, or they don't have any natural talent at all). I dare you to go to a Black Eyed Peas concert (I have) and come back saying it was actually worth the cost. It isn't. Simply put, people crave the drug, alcohol, sex filled lives portrayed through media, so no it will probably not change until there is a drastic change in morality (maybe the United States should adopt South Korea's or China's conservatism?) My rant =D
I despise the media, nothing but filth makes it to the top. Untalented fools portrayed as geniuses or musical wizards. You can't even call it music anymore.: - There is no emotion - The story telling is terrible - Everyone's using Auto-Tune
