Simple question really: what is the point of buying traffic from a PTC-network? The surfer would almost never be the least bit interested in the actual site, and as such the productivity must be incredible low. It honestly just seems like a waste of bandwidth. Or am I missing something...? (P.S the captcha is not good friends with the preview button.)
I used to help out on PTC sites and was a member of a few. Once or twice I saw something that captured my interest - but I would never buy any products advertised. I suppose people might use it to just get traffic so it appears that people visit their site a lot. But PTC sites are a waste of time and money for people selling products: hardly anyone will bother reading your page, let alone buy something. Forgot to add something: the people who view the ads will do so every 24 hours... so if in the first day nobody buys, the next loads of people wont either because they tend to be the same people.
Thank you, and yes that was also what I thought. This was the answer I got from one of the PTC-sellers: They can not even "defend" it themself
sure man here are some reasons that I occasionally buy PTC traffic: It's good for brand exposure. It's good for stats (alexa and others). It's good for eyes-only (not PPC) advertisers. It's good for load testing a new site or service. It's good for getting users for your own PTC site Also PTC traffic is primarily real people so if your conversion goal is a hard sale it's not good but if you have a market-targeted landing page designed to attract the people who use PTC sites you may certainly meet conversion goals in the area of new list subscribers, free downloads, or etc... Of course, someone who is using PTC traffic for any of these reasons would be wise to determine where the demographic of the PTC they choose is, and target any advertisements or promos to that demographic. Showing US-targeted PPC ads or products only available in USD to an Indian/Malaysian/etc... demographic is a sure path to disappointment no matter how you get them to your site. Yes, buying PTC traffic to sell products or gather PPC clicks is silly, a waste of time and money. But eyes on your page always have value, you just have to know how to find it.
yep generally I think its useless for getting targetted traffic, you are better off spending your money advertising through other means
