The Planet has a datacenter explosion and fire!!!!

Server up and operational here .

 

I've been told by my provider it could be late tonight or early tomorrow.

 

I'm back up!!!! There's rumors that we might get two months credit or refund....

I pay $167.00 a month, so if I save $334, I'll start wishing this occured every two months on da last day of the month and came back on a day later!!!!

 

My server at hostgator is still affected, Do we really get 2 months credit or refund?

 

I wonder if Break.com were down by this effect? they are hosted with TP

 

You're at hostgator, not The Planet, there for you'll have to ask them. Theres a BIG difference. The Planet has the SLA credits (Service Level Agreement for those of you in Rio Linda), and I'm guessing if hostgator has one, it's not nearly as good!! And theres a big difference between rumors and fact!!

gah!!!! Now the servers are being shut off again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who wants to start the guessing on how many hours it will be until the servers come back up this time!!!!!!

 

I set up a site yesterday on Hostgator and it's up right now

 

That's cause it's mostly us ev1server oldies that are in the blackout. (Oldies as in geting a server with them as far back as around 2001!!) This is the original datacenter that was used by Raqshack/ev1servers.

 

Bah!!! Why didn't they allow this...last Saturday!!!! (Every one on Floor 1 is down!!!) Right now I'm waiting for my new IP address ocne my server is moved to the other datacenter.

 

Same here. Except I am waiting for 29 IP addresses...

Two months credit!!! The second one comes in December.

 

This is a joke. My server still down -- the OS became read only... "Became"... Meaning: we can not evacuate websites even, or restart the server even.

STAY AWAY from ThePlanet. Accidents can happen anywhere, it's true. You want to deal with ignorant charlatans who don't give a damn? Choose TP. Worst kind of ticketing system. 25 minutes on hold when calling on the phone. 3 hours waiting for another ticket update. Repeat. I regret the day when I bought my servers there.

My servers are also from The Planet and every thing working fine for me....

 

There's no reason that they shouldn't be working fine now. This happened around 9 days ago.

 

I hope no one got hurt in the fire. I know some people who've really suffered cause of fires..
But 9000 servers!! That's a lot of semiconductors..
