Peanut butter lovers, how are you dealing with the salmonella contamination of this product? Have any forum members been victims of this particular food poisoning?:(

I am not dealing with it very well. I watched my wife eat peanut butter the other night and I was scared shitless. I, myself don't like peanutbutter, or milk either for that matter, and I have never been poisioned by it either, but I ate some bad sushi one time and it damned near killed me...

I believe this is the second pb scare. I heard yesterday, im definately not deterred from eating it. My demographic is pretty resilient when it comes to salmonella, so bring it on.

yeah, what's about this peanut butter scare???
I don't eat either , but it's a little bit strange to hear about such a thing...salmonella is sometimes founded in unsuitable cooked eggs, milk, meat also vegetables and fruits which were not washed properly ...

In my OP I understated the issue. It turns out that the salmonella contamination was not confined just to peanut butter but to various peanut based foods such as cookies and crackers. As a result many of these products are being recalled.

My wife is West African and peanut butter is a big part of the culture there, used as a flavouring and thickening agent in just about everything. But, as a result she's very fussy about it and always insists on making it fresh. And that's the secret to safer food, always make your own.

Another scare cum scam? Could be another off-shoot of the
    melamine issue. Psychological commercial warfare?:)

In both the peanut butter and the melamine contaminations, many people died or were sickened from consuming tainted products. In China some of those responsible for the melamine poisoning were tried and given death sentences. Does that sound like a psychological warfare scam? If so, who are the forces behind it? After all, thousands of people would have to be in on this con game to make it work to the extent that it has.

Or maybe the victims were taken away in black helicopters to be beamed to UFO's where their bodies will be probed by the space aliens who are also holding Elvis and JFK in captivity. Does that cover enough conspiracy theories for you?
