The Palestinian Christian is an endangered species.

"When the modern state of Israel was established there were about 400,000 of us. Two years ago the number was down to 80,000. Now it’s down to 60,000. At that rate, in a few years there will be none of us left. When this happens non-Christian groups will move into our churches and claim them for ever. " Read more...

I got this far on that website:

"I fear that when/if the last Palestinian Christian leaves extreme groups will move instantly to our churches and schools and have a field day hatching world plots. It would be too late for Bush (or Kerry) to do anything about it !!"

That was good for a laugh at least :)

What could possibly be funny about that?

That's horrible, if Palestinians can't live in peace among themselves how can they live in peace among the Jews.

They forgot the incubators. You can't hatch anything properly without an incubator. ;)

The palestinian christians want a state also but they wont resort to suicide bombing to get this done. This is why they see leaving as the best alternative as they know both sides will never give in. I know some here in cali and this is the opinion i got from talking to a few. They are all very successful businessmen and very pragmatic. Would you stay in a war zone if you can make 6 figures a year in a safe environment?

approximately 10% of Palestine's (excluding Transjordan) Arab population was Christian. This is reflected in the large number of prominent Palestinians that are Christian, including Hanan Ashrawi, Emile Habibi, Edward Said, Elia Suleiman, Atallah Mansour, Azmi Bishara, Anis Shorrosh, George Habash, Nayef Hawatmeh, Rifat Odeh Kassis and activist Raymonda Tawil, who is also the mother of Yassir Arafat's wife Suha.[7] The current Palestinian Ambassador to the United States, Afif Saffieh, is also from a Christian family. However, the Christians were also often found in the more affluent segments of Palestinian society that fled or were expelled from the country during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War; in West Jerusalem, over 50% of Christians lost their homes to the advancing Israeli army, according to the historian Sami Hadawi. [8]

a Palestinian politician. Habash was a major innovator in the use of violence for political ends, including airplane hijacking. Habash, a Palestinian Christian, founded the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and was the organization's Secretary-General until 2000.

I stand corrected on all counts:), i guess im learning something new everyday. It seems like most isrealis are saying absolutely nothing about the illegal settlement building going on there. Its good that at least the washington post can give us some unbiased news coming in from that region. These issues should be made public to the world and not just one publication though.

Anyone who loves their children enough would remove them (if at all possible) from danger or dangerous areas. Besides being a Christian in Palestine probably makes you a target by extremists as well as being in danger of being killed during retaliation by Israel.

There are Christians in Israel and I am guessing that number has grown each year.
