I'm seeing internal pages now getting PageRank - at last!

    The homepage's remain the same.

Wrong, and you shouldn't be passing on misinformation like that.

AP, you're misusing the word relevant there. Relevancy has nothing to do with PageRank. legend2 was saying the number of links was irrelevant, not that the links didn't pass PR due to not being relevant.

bb, it also depends on when you got those higher PR links, but yes, something weird is going on. I have a page that G actually shows the homepage (PR4) linking to it in a link: command, yet did not give it any PR this update. See this thread:

I don't see any changes at this moment for my 3 month old websites. Is the update still in progress?

    This update is wacked as!

    Nothing seems to make sense

Sites with less backlinks get PR5, all backlinks are PR0, couple of PR1

Sites with lots of backlinks get 0, even though links from PR4, PR5 pages

Would you mind sharing the URL you are seeing internal pages getting PR? I am in the same boat.

Your site would more than likely miss this update and show changes in the April 8 2007 update ....

That dates just a prediction...your mileage may vary with Googlengine.....always try to use 93 octane :D

I am not seeing updates yet, and I better, because I didn't get updated last time and if I don't again then I will be angry. Also, this topic got long fast.

Did anybody noticed difference between results received through different data centers?

    That's because:

    1) PR is Dancing
    2) There is an infrastructure update going on and non-upgraded servers serve older visible PR.

    This is conjecture:

I think Google has changed how they update visible PR. It used to be that prior to visible PR updates we would see a lot of blips (oddities and temporary PR changes to a limited number of documents). The blips would go on for quite awhile. Then, when the PR update occurred it rolled across the Data Centers and was finished within 24 to 48 hours.

This time the oddities were fewer and the pre-update period much shorter. However, the update itself is taking longer and with some intense fluctuation. It's reminiscent of the original Google SERPs Dance. Hence, PR is dancing.

Well whatever it is, I can agree that is is not only weird, but confusing.

While google still has the vast majority of my site as PR zero (choosing only to rank 3 pages that are essentially unused by my visitors, bringing those three to PR2 from 0) I have seen a massive (and welcome) jump in traffic from around the world to virtually every single one of my articles.

So it's good... by why did they choose to boost my Serps 10fold and leave me vastly unranked? *scratches head*

Kinda makes you wonder exactly how much effect toolbar PR has on SERP's doesn't it?

    *hint* *hint*

Allways trying to play devils advocate ;)

81 pages of posts is enough to prove beyond a doubt PR is a meaningfull thing to a lot of people ;)
