This has been a partial PR and backlink update. I dont think that many more changes are going to occur to sites that have gotten any PR.
I belive that the next PR update will be sooner then in 3 months maybe
in 2 months. just a hunch as i looked at the old PR updates and their has only been 1 or 2 partial updates since PR was created.

I am seeing peoples sites that i thought were real winners with backlinks everywere get totally screwed...
Take xxxxx site for instance, that is a quality directory yet it gets only a pr2 and nothing more, while other
Directorys that to me were a joke get pr5-6s with only a month or 2 of life... Google sucks

It doesn't really make sense for Google to do a partial update, or export. Since its just toolbar PR and public backlink counts, it affects none of their internal systems.

A partial update would make as much sense as half painting your house.

 

Or they did it so they can laugh when reading this thread

Yes, my site gjsolutions.co.uk has not changed (still PR3), but an internal page (gjsolutions.co.uk/qtftpd/) has gone from PR3 to PR4 and the site has also had an increase in backlinks today...

Yeah, same thing happened to me ... first backlinks dropped ... then internal pages started getting higher PR, then today backlinks have quadrupled ..... now I guess it's just the front page PR update to go

My point being that software doesn't need to do anything by halves. Especially not with a 2-3 month gap in between.

By your alone signature alone...I am venturing to guess that you have not heard how link spamming can hurt your site more than help....

Or the fact that Google would only count one occurrance of an outbound link per site, since multiple link counts would unjustly influence the search rankings?

Actually, while you are probably right, there is a huge difference between what you or I might write as a web or desktop app, and the size of the data warehouse G is dealing with. Things aren't as instantaneous as you might think.

However, in this instance, since all that is being exported is visual, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I mean, c'mon, G has said all along that they PR is constantly updated behind the scenes, and these visual things are just old data being shown. It's not like G would lie to us, and these things might actually mean something once in a while, right?

The whole serps bouncing at the same time this started, that's just a coincidence.

One thing that might take a while is if they are fixing whatever prevented them from updating about 20% of the DC's last September. If they were synchronizing all of them to be consistent, I would imagine this could even take a few more weeks, and have some serious shakeups in the serps along with it.
