It is an update. 1 of my 4 sites has increased PR from 3 to 5. The other 3 are unchanged, but I wasn't expecting any change with those three.

You're kidding, right? You didn't realize that meant that the page being searched on was cached on that particular DC...?

It's a layover from when the tool used to be the Furture PR tool. Google zero'd out that field, but I noticed that if the page wasn't cached on that DC then the field just didn't exist... if it returned 0 then there was a cached copy. I wrote the webmaster and he incorporated it into the tool.

I see quite a few people say PR doesn't matter anymore.
    This thread says otherwise.

    So...

The next time someone says that pagerank doesn't matter, throw up a link to this thread. :D

And, FWIW, I never saw any movement on any of my sites.

pr doesn't matter like people think it does.

people unfortunately just dont know better.

it matters to one person IMO. the link seller.

Buyers are willing to pay more for higher PR links. The law of supply and demand.
So, it would appear that PR matters to link buyers as well as link sellers. ;)

    PR matters

The more links you have from pages with both relevance and PR the higher your site will rank in SERP's

Not to mention having PR means you can make a buck or two selling some links :)

    Precisely.

...And the number of bucks you can make just happens to rise with PR. :)

Yep - looks like things are back to normal.

Using a link: command on 216.239.51.44 earlier yielded 2,643 backlinks for a new site, and now it's back to 0 links.

My sites are all over the map! I've got a PR6 page showing PR6,5, and 0! Other pages seem to be inconsistant when checking across datacenters. Something is happening for sure.
