"Regular PR update" is an oxymoron.

It actually would be considered quarterly, since it happens basically every season, and a season is a quarter of the year, and a quarter of the year is a quarter. My site hasn't been updated, and I built up so many links. Is the update still occurring?

I got a few nice changes, mostly for my newer sites:

BizAmmo.com (which I barely bother promoting, and even more rarely actually update right now) went from 0-4, including 4 on the subdomains and some PR on all of the internal pages I checked.

NakedPR.com - brand new blog I started last month (didn't expect PR till the next update for it) went from 0-3

SixFigureWriters.com - started the group blog for our challenge in the Fall, and it went form 0-5

AllFreelancing.com - my freelance writing forum started in November went from 0-5

PromoteIndieMusic.com - I site I set up not long ago just by pulling some articles from my old blog that needed to be revamped and throwing them onto a template - 0-4

FreeDeepLinks.com - My free deep link article directory launched a few months back (neglected badly the last two months) from 0-4

IndieGuru.com - An indie music directory that I neglect more than most other sites even. It caught the tail end of the last update (literally was launched during the update, so I couldn't understand why it got PR at all then), this time went from 2-4

There were others, but I can't remember. One odd thing happened, so I hope it's a glitch. I manage the Technology section for the Suite101 network. Section pages used to mostly be PR6, including mine. I expected it to bump up one or stay the same. Now it's displaying as 0??? Others seem to be ok though, so I'm thoroughly confused on that one.

I know PR doesn't mean a heck of a lot in a lot of ways. But considering I spend so much time promoting others' sites that my own get neglected way too much (both in promotion and in content creation) I'm really happy with most of my results this update. If nothing else, it's motivating me to put more into my sites. :)

I actually believe that Google is trying to introduce some significant change in the PageRank system. If you recall, 6 months or so ago they underwent the big infrastructure change. Since then, PR has been - well screwed up.

Some new sites get no PR, new pages may or may not get PR. Google seems to do partial updates, rollbacks. The PR isnt consistant across all the datacenter -- all kinds of things for the past 6 months or so.

Google, is broken still, I believe.

Most of the ones listed are new, so there's not much to compare it to. ;) If anything, traffic to the forum has been down since the holidays (my own fault for not igniting more conversation). Traffic to the sixfigurewriters blog keeps going up b/c of cross-blog "discussions" and posts about it elsewhere. Bizammo traffic is down b/c I think I've added a whopping 1 article there (currently building hundreds for a relaunch expanding from 4 sites to 20 though, so not exactly neglected) - oddly enough though Bizammo revenue is up. FreeDeepLinks traffic is down, but revenue is still a few dollars a day - not promoting it anymore until it's name change, re-design, script upgrade, etc. hopefully in the next few months. Things are kind of across the board. :)

Something else I just noticed... I started playing with Squidoo lenses about the week before Christmas. They seem to have generally been bumped to a PR3 already... so that's good to know in the future since there's PR backlink potential from highly relevant pages, if I remember to build more in my "spare" time.

I just have noticed today that my two sites went from PR0 to PR4. They were registered in September and didn't get any PR two weeks ago during toolbar PR export.

My old sites are getting better PR too.

Few other sites that I didn't promote went down a notch.

Over all, looks like will get much better PR next update as I will be doing a more aggressive linking this quarter :)

Plunged would be a more descriptive word! That's bad; maybe it will recover as Ezine Articles has done today returning to PR6.

    I don't know,

but i think merging the pagerank threads was a bad idea.

I mean who knows which update we are talking bout now.

I'd given up PageRank on my index page for dead, but I'm glad to see it's come through finally. A site I made in November has gone from PR0 to PR4 mainly on the strength of two PR6 links. Hooray!

That is a point. I don't know about the rest of you but I have been talking about the PR update that happened in late 2004. lol.

Only joking. I am sure people will roughly know. I guess it's better than having lots of PR update threads everywhere.
