Huh?...Ok, Mr Einstein. All you did was just state the obvious. Just in case you started using the internet yesterday, you don't need a high PR site in order to get a lot of traffic. And not all high PR sites get a lot of traffic, so not sure what your point was.

We already know pointing links to a site will build link popularity. It's common knowledge.

Ok that was .... I dont if it was funny or wierd. But yeah a Mr Newbie. I just think he made the comment to boost his post count since he only had 3. And he tried to pad his post to look like it wasnt spammy.

Looks like the initial update wasn't completed.
My forum was having the same problem as a lot of other webmasters of forums and directories where the deeper pages were getting good PR but nothing on the homepage. It seems this has been fixed with all pages including the homepage having PR. Still updating on a lot of data centers though.

if high PR will not help with driving more traffic from SE than why do we care? this would only apply to websites which don't make money on advertising...if you sell links on your website than I undestand you want higher PR but if you are not selling ads than why do we care about PR, prestige?

Exactly. PR is for the ego and for the fact that we must be doing something right. And with the potential of making money via link sales.

I think PR is something that webmasters are obsessed with :D As you mentioned, it is a great leveraging tool for selling links from your website. The higher the PR, the more you can charge.

Other than that, as someone else said earlier, it might be an ego booster for some webmasters.

I don't sell links but I do use the TBPR to analyze my internal link architecture - not everyone uses it for for ego boosts or link sales.

    I noticed last night a site I've been working on went from a PR0 to a PR5 :D

I'm pretty happy with it even if ppl do think its worthless.

OK, this is the first reason (link architecture), apart from ego
    - how do you valuate link architecture vs. PR?

I don't remember ever saying that's what everone uses PR for. If you would re-read my statement more carefully, you will notice I never mentioned "everyone" or "all". I will go as far as saying, those are the reasons that most webmasters use PR data for.
