Why there is no PR for some website while they have good Alexa ranking, but some others have PR with bad Alexa ranking? Is the PR still so important for the google ranking? I heard someone say that google stopped PR, but why can I still find some websites that have PR?
All websites are still given PR. I don't think it's important at all to be honest, and I think it's way overused as a way of attracting link partners on this site. I use it myself - it's the convention - but I think there's still way too much focus on it.
It's true what Lindman it's saying but still the PR Factor i think is important as the Page Speed factor also with the unique content factor.
http://www.digpagerank.com/ is the one that I use and is very reliable. It checks multiple datacentres
Both are easily manipulated and meaningless. What's important is traffic and conversions (sales, etc). No. Were they wearing a tinfoil hat?
PR is not so important because as your site getting older the PR also increases what important most is the keyword and the SE ranking of your site.
BTY, my website is highly optimized and working since 2009 .... and submitted in all major directories ..... and still ranked only 3 !!!!
PR depends on your backlinks and Alexa is about your traffic. Both have a lot of difference. So that is why some sites have high PR and low alexa rank.
google does not stop PR ... If its stop PR wont show in tool bars... as for me Alexa purly based on website traffic
its all about back links and traffic how much you have to drive that will be measured in your ranks as well as there is no ranking is correct there must be some different.
I think quality back links from high PR related sites and content updates will bring up your PR surely..
Page Rank & Alexa rank are two various metrics provides rank to the sites based on {traffic ( alexa=No of visitors per day)} {Back links, Content, Site Structure and other( Page Rank)}
