The Oscar for Best Motion Picture goes to " The Hurt Locker"

    The Oscar for Best Motion Picture goes to " The Hurt Locker". I was expecting AVATAR. I am really dissapointed :eek:

    Although The Hurt Locker is a good Movie. But AVATAR Deserves an Oscar :)

    Do you know the director- Kathryn Bigelow is ex-wife of James cameroon? James cameroon is the Director of Avatar. This is really a first OSCAR award for a women on women's day.

    yes, I agree with you. Avatar is a fantasy movie.. but Hurt Locker is about real world.

    I think whatever the Oscar jury decided was OK. May they have to ate things on certain parameters which we can't see. I think Avatar was a marvelous entertainer but sometimes Oscar jury swing with different things which go straight over our heads.

    "the hurt locker" is possibly the most painfully realistic war movie I have ever seen. I believe Bigelow did a fantastic job recreating the horrors of war.
    also the short/cameo appearances of Ralph Fiennes, Guy Pearce, David Morse and others added an element of surprise.
