As its Friday and I've already done 80 hours... Was this the original Google patent granted on March 13th 1928 to Charles P. Google of Greeenwood, Mississippi? - Michael
Looks like there's some bad index data in there-- possibly from an OCR algorithm that favored "Google" over the real name that's clearly "Coogle"... -- Derek
Absolutely Derek, it appears for a search on both. Also other fun OCR errors like Swim Google - Michael
If you look at the image, it looks like that one's a typo in the patent... I wonder if that's the kind of loophole that would allow a lawyer to get around a patent in court... It's really surprising that a patent could get through the whole process with a typo in a header like that... -- Derek
Wow, that's so old. Yeah and the typo. Were they using typewriters those days? Actually there were computers right? Or did google get a patient for fun? lol
The Swim "google" one? That's 1998/1999, and yes, they had computers. I think I still have a few from then... -- Derek
I've discovered tha one, myself. Although its incorrect, its actually Goggle. Theres lots of typos in it. There is also a mistake for a Mr A Wanner (you can guess how they spelt it) And a Mr FLICK OCR gone mad. I've also been having some fun. With regards to a Wanker rule see line 30 http://www.google.co.uk/patents?vid=USPAT6986104&id=93R4AAAAEBAJ&pg=RA2-PA18&vq=wanker&dq=a+wanker
