The order of backlinks and their value

    I have this theory that Yahoo lists backlinks in order of their importance.What do you guys/girls think about that?

    I always guessed that this was true.....My links from wikipedia and education sites always showed up on the first page so always assumed that this was true..

    The yahoo listing is not based on google PR. Yahoo may have its own importance criteria.

    True, but i wasn't reffering to Google PR, i was reffering to the importance of the sites in the eyes of Yahoo. If this theory is true, then we have a very valuable info in our hands. By gathering the sites that show on the first pages for backlinks, for top 10, we can then sumarize and extract the sites that appear as backlinks for multiple sites because those sites are definitely seen as beeing important/authority sites.
