It's ok for your first site. Consider changing the colors? Maybe the background from dark blue to white or a lighter color? Just imo..Good luck with it..

I like the colour scheme; well chosen xD

Just a note though, on FireFox a few things don't work, like the 'Random squidlink selection' and the dashed horizontal rules.

 

Just the design doesn't stand out to me. It is easy to navigate, but not too appealing to the eye. That's my opinion though, others might like it

 

shamess what version of firefox are you running? I've tested it lots with the latest version of 1.5.0.4 and everything seems ok (after a bit of tweaking), thanks?

chris22 you should have seen the orange and yellow version lol! Once I've had lots of feedback I'll consider changing it. I've had over a 1000 people visit now and had good feedback over the latest colours.

Nice site mate, i have been through a series of directories recently, and that has to be one of the best layouts i've seen, i imagine that it will use alot of bandwidth though?

 

thrawn thanks for the comments. Yep it will in time use a lot of bandwidth! I'm working on an option to display in a textual format (especially for those without a fast connection!) and various other ideas are being considered.

What is an optimum width for a fixed width page?

 

It's been a while since I've posted here. We are about to release updates to the site and kaethy hinted at the page being very wide.

What is the optimum width for a fixed width page? I am guessing it is 800? Would you guys agree?
