I don't know if this is already ask here in DP but... Does anyone know what is the oldest website that is still up and active until now? According from a blog that I recently read the oldest registered domain is “Symbolics.com†This was registered on March 1985. Expiration Date: 2016-03-16 Creation Date: 1985-03-15 Last Update Date: 2006-12-20 Is it really Symbolics.com is the oldest website? Can anyone agree on this?

Am I going crazy or what? I remember seeing a domain in the 80s the other day. And it wasn't any of those I think.
Maybe this is again one of your dreams.. LOL If you really did see a reg year 1984 you where not surprise? wOw... I am wondering how much is SYMBOLICS.COM worth now? Thanks 5starpix for the share
Yeah I was surprised when I seen the site I remember it 1984. I was going to post it on DP but I was at work this was 2-3 weeks ago. I never new domains went back that far. The oldest before that I saw was like 96. I could swear I saw this! No lies. I may be going crazy.
You guys are mixing up your terminology and history. The internet was around for years before anyone invented "web sites". The World Wide Web project wasn't started until 1989, and released in 1992. The first TCP/IP network was started up in January 1983, and DNS was deployed shortly thereafter (RFC 882 and 883). Remember: WWW != Internet
I think that Symbolics was the 1st regd .com domain and not a full fledged site. and I think that they have not changed the design on the site since then.
But why Symbolics.com? Out of everything it could have been. Bet they wish they'd pick google.com now
Just checked all those domains out, few aren't around anymore, few have crummy 90's web design. HP, Xerox, and Northrop all looked good though.
