I disagree. I was at the speech, and those quotes are taken out of context, and they were not punchlines to any statements.

    The man was funny.
    Complete lines from his speech:

“He (McCain) said he would take on the old boys network in Washington. Think about this, this is someone who has been in Congress for 26 years, someone who put seven of the most powerful lobbyists in Washington in charge of his campaign. And now he tells us he’s the one that will take on the old boys network in Washington. What’s wrong with this picture? The old boys network? In the McCain campaign, that’s called a staff meeting.”

“We’re not done yet,” he said. “I’m not making this up. You can’t make this up. It’s like a Saturday Night Live routine.”

14,000 people laughed and gave many standing ovations to his punchlines yesterday.

Obama campaign slogan should be called no specifics.

"Barack Obama talks to the camera for two full minutes about the economy in a new ad which attempts to show voters that he is the one who cares and can fix the financial mess.

These long-winded attempts to sway voters with a personal message usually come in the final days of the campaign, not 48 days away.

In it, he reminds viewers what the problems are (losing money), who is to blame (Washington), and what he would do about it (no specifics). "

@ hmansfield http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=9242659&postcount=151 Obama will get investigated for his involvement in the wall street crash.

That is probably one of the most accurate portrayals of Obama I have seen yet.

LOL. That sums up the case for Mccain.
If you have nightmares and your psychiatrist can no longer help you then vote for Mccain.

Yea, I was reading about that today and Biden sounded like a complete idiot.

It's patriotic for them to take more of my money so they can fix things THEY f*cked up? Please, take more of my money so it's harder to provide my future children with a proper education, clothes, books, healthcare, etc. so they can keep f*cking up the economy and walk away with millions. F*cking the people that make this country what it is sounds patriotic to me!

Biden make Quayle look like a genius.

Biden still claims to be a middle class guy too... Kinda hard to believe from someone that was filmed for over 8 hours on his massive compound, 1.4 million dollar house, mommies house on the compound too. Not to mention those nice democrats that are so proud about promoting being green, yet there were 32 gas guzzling SUV's that transported Biden and his entourage to the airport to meet up with Obama upon his VP announcment.

Both of these guys are so full of shit, its not even funny anymore. The irony in this "patriotic" comment is that the very people that founded our nation sought freedom from this kind of perverse redistribution of wealth. So much so that they fought and died to escape it.

If you think Biden is an idiot, then Obama must be a bigger idiot for hiring him.

Stop supporting the stupid people for president because you don't want your boss to pay his fair share of tax. 1.5 mil is not a lot for a house either. Mccain married to a woman with multiple of them. he don't know how many either. But he is not smart enough to buy one with his own money.

Me thinks you are a confused... $1.5 mil is a lot when you are trying to say you are not a millionaire or that you are middle class.

It is a lot however when liberal want that tax money though. How dare someone live in a 1.5 million dollar home? They must be rich and must not be paying their patriotic share.

The point it, Biden and his supporters try to make the point that he is not rich, or that he is somehow just like the average American, when nothing could be further from the truth. I will give Joe some credit. At least he bought his house legally, unlike Obama.

House has a mortgage. The fact that you think $1.5 mil is a lot of money is proof that you have no understanding of what rich is. or what the real value of money is.
just do a search in Manhattan. where the real rich live.

You'd have to be an absolute idiot to vote for Obama.

Biden and Obama only donates a small % of their big salary to charity and they want Americans to be more patriotic. More patriotic are you kidding me? That comes from a man that would not pledge to the flag until he saw that people would not vote for him.

 Obama should return the Fannie and Freddie millions and the millions from the other banks that gave to Obama campaign that are broke instead of asking the taxpayers to cover the losses.

patriotic duty......Obama's brother lives in a box. How about donating $200 to rent him a home for a couple of years.

If he not looking out for his family. What makes you think he will look out for you.

Only a fool would believe those no specifics catch phrases..

You'd have to be an absolute idiot to vote for McCain.

Again , you are missing the point. Most of "middle America" think that 1.5 Million is a lot for a house when the average median income of the middle class in Middle America cannot afford a 1.5 million dollar home.

What you are proving here, as you have so many times in the past is that you are completely out of touch with reality.

I find absolutely nothing wrong with owning a 1.5 million dollar house. What I find fault with is someone claiming to be just like the Average American, who DOES NOT LIVE IN A 1.5 million dollar house on a private compound with several houses, but does.

That you fail to see the point, again, shows how out of touch you really are.

It is you that are missing the point. when they talk about paying your share of taxes,[more in the case of top 5%] He is talking about Rich people. People like the ones that buy these houses, not the people like me and you. we will pay less in taxes. Not only you and most of the middle America are not rich but you will never be rich.
stop dreaming and let these people pay their fare share.

Tough love you mean no love. I don't think Obama should hand the man dollars. But I would at least find him a one room apartment. They go for under $6.00 per month. Obama spends around $40,000 per month sending his daughters to school.

Would you let your brother or sister live out in the streets if you had the means to help a little? You would not spend $6 dollars per month Grim. I don't believe you are that coldhearted. Maybe I guessed you wrong. Obama only looks out for Obama.

That is really helping the poor and the people that need it the most.

Obama will look out for his kind. The rich stock brokers and bankers that are lining his pockets.

Boy oh boy, how the partisan ones love to twist the truth.

Joe Biden's has published 10 years of tax records for all to see.

The guy is definitely better off than the average income of American's but he is far far from wealthy.

He has been earning between $200-300,000/year for the last decade. That is great, but it in no way makes one extremely wealthy.

He has virtually no interest income. That means he either has little in investments or his investments don't pay dividends.

He has a big house, but if you compare it in value to other cities along the Eastern Seaboard, you would know that you can buy tons of house value in Wilmington for tons less than other cities.

Take a look at his taxes. He has a big mortgage, paying over $3,000/monthly.

His house may look big and sound expensive. I bet he bought it a good many years ago, definitely still has a lot of debt on it, and it probably has lost paper value in the last year. That house would be worth tons more in comparable neighborhoods closer to Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York, or Boston. Tons and tons more.

How would you describe the guy's net worth? Probably somewhere between upper middle class and wealthy. He teaches part time and his wife teaches. Besides his income from the Senate that doesn't make them wealthy, not by a long long shot.

According to the Obama tax plan he'll pay a little more. If he and his wife were earning $50, 60, 70, 80, 90 thousand etc.....the Obama tax plan would be more favorable to him than the McCain plan. At $250,000 and up...it is costing him a bit more. He can afford it.

When I was making ZERO, I needed every buck. When I was making $30, 40, 50, 60,000, I needed everything. When I was making $250,000, I had a lot of money for luxories. When I was making a good amt more than $250,000 I had a lot lot lot more for luxories, investments, charities, you name it. When I was making very middle class income, I had one year with big emergencies and problems that cost a lot of money. I simply couldn't afford it. I needed help. If I had been wealthy it wouldn't have been a problem.

I know longer believe in the "trickle down" theory of economics. I find it rankling. If I'm a rich guy....it means I keep as much as I can....and then those who make less get it this way....

It trickles to them....and it flows downward. That is demeaning.

Ultimately, I haven't seen the trickle down theory work to make the economy boom. Certainly not now.

Meanwhile, McCain's family income is extremely wealthy. 7 homes, some sources just reported 9. No teacher's work or salary for him

McCain is disconnected from financial reality, and has not addressed these issues in a serious manner during his long service in the US Congress.

I don't think McCain has a studied clue on how to deal with it, and I think his instincts on it are way off.
