The next step for my site

JobsInNY.net (PR 3) is now on the 7th page for the term "jobs in ny" (google USA). So should I go for a joint venture with somebody on here or some big site or company involving new york jobs? Should I just wait till it gets to the top and then collect money from the search box? However, search boxes only pay 70 dollars a month for 20 visitors a day.

JobsInNY.net can be advertised locally in New York by a company. On the other hand, ManagerJobs.Mobi (My other site which will be optimized for 15X more search engine traffic than JobsInNY.net) cannot. Even if it was a .com instead of .mobi it will still be difficult. A company would just tell me put a search box on the site.

JobsInNY.net is different because companies might not just give a me a search box or "adsense" style ad. They might want more direct control over it (short of buying it). Because with JobsInNY.net the company might want to run ads for the site. But it can't do that unless it has more control over the site. It won't run ads so people will click on my search box. So perhaps they would pay a monthly fee to use the site in a more direct way.

On the other hand, a company won't advertise ManagerJobs.com or .mobi because it would have to advertise to a national audience. Why do that when they already got a big site to advertise nationally?

The bargaining power is in the name and the fact it can be used locally in a big city.

At the most I can get 500 to 1000 monthly from a search box (based on traffic if I was at the top for broad searches "jobs in ny" and "ny jobs" So should I go for more than just the search box? In other words, allowing a company to post local newspaper ads in New York for the site so it can get more than 1000 a month.
