Turkey called everyone to make researches , opened archives. armenians did many massaccares in history. But no one cares
I like Turkey. What they did 100 years ago is not an issue today - other than simply being honest about it. They have all but admitted it anyway, they just don't like the word genocide. Oh well, too bad. The funny thing is that I like Turkey, my country likes Turkey. And yet people like you think just because we are honest in speaking of Turkey's past they we don't like Turkey. You don't need to lie to yourself or others. It only makes you look foolish. The only reason I brought it up is because you were being a little prick and telling me I was not on topic. As far as I am concerned the genocide of the Armenians is history, just like the Holocaust in WWII is history. I look at Turkey and Germany as peaceful nations in today's world. Ziya is funny, because he argues here the same way he does about the mid east. When someone points out the that Armenians were massacred, his response is "but they did bad too" never any acknowledgment of wrongdoing if it involves a Muslim or Islam. That kind of blindness is truly sad.
is isreal planning another genocide of Palestinians ? is usa planning another attack on some country? when you start acknowledging the crimes committed by terrorist isreal as well as the crimes of usa against humanity and Muslims than we can also think about others That kind of blindness is truly sad. I don't care if you like my posts or not. This is not your forum. I will post whatever and wherever I feel like posting. Thanks Zia, unity among Muslims is the need of hour today Like I said, British and their cronies had very cleverly dismantled the caliphate, spinning off small countries, so that they can 'divide and rule' The common public realises this need of unity and strong ties, however there is the problem of leadership, the filthy dictators and monarchs supported by west are the real problem
Hey @browntwn My English is not very good. I not write long answers @new To get comfortable. Blood does not stay on the floor. Palestinians take revenge
Muslim unity, that sounds good. Why don't you all unite and repudiate some of the things coming out of your religion?
SO WE HAVE THIS WHOLE EXCHANGE. AND THEN COMES ALONG new WHO DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON AND OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT A RHETORICAL QUESTION IS. SOMETIMES I WONDER WTF? and how do people like you survive in the real world?
Such a atrophied and withered intellect is the common thing about the citizens of the countries of the middle east (except.. you know which ... ) In order for a democracy to be able to survive, you need that the average intellect of the people will surpass a certain threshold. They are so far from the minimum threshold, and this is the ONLY reason why none of them are a democracy.
@brwntwn You asked a "RHETORICAL QUESTION", so I asked a few more of them! of-course like a typical racist you chose imply that other people in ME are somewhat less capable and handicapped as compared to the 'chosen ones' Good that you chose democracy for yourself only , that rest of the world should bow before you and acts only on your commands, right?
Armenian Patriarch Nerses stated, in his letter, to the Citizenship Assembly Council in 1876 that "If by any chance the Armenian nation has been preserved as a nation and if it is preserving its beliefs, its church, language, history and cultural values, all these are due to the protection, help and benevolence shown by the Turkish government to the Armenian nation. Fate bounds Armenians to Turks. Because of this, Armenians can not remain indifferent during wars and hardships facing the state. On the contrary, they are obliged to help the state as they have always done. The Armenian who loves his homeland and who will help the state, will receive the best service of his own nation." As it is seen in the statement above, the Armenian Patriarch says that the Armenians under Turkish rule have preserved their identities and he thanks for the rights offered by the Ottoman State. The Armenian community always lived in a tolerant and free environment, like all the other minorities and non-Muslims in the Ottoman Empire. They were not a community which was exposed to a massacre as claimed but a community who held important positions and practiced important professions in every level of state administration.

It used to be that manufacturing and technology were the backbone of America. Resource based economies generally suck. look at South America for any number of examples. The only defense for the common man in a resource based economy is...nationalization.
Resources and commodities are abundant in america, if the economy tanks it won't wipe out the country
How so? History would argue otherwise. Resources and commodities are low hanging fruit ripe for exploitation. Read up on the history of resource extraction in South America, Africa, Asia, et. al. One also has to look at the mix of resources and commodities. The US has been outsourcing its capacity to provide food, clothing and shelter to its citizens - and those are the most basic of needs.
its the basics, if our economy where to continue to tank, we won't fall off the map to the world because of what we can provide
Falling off the map has to do with geography. hasn't happened since Atlantis. Resources and commodities historically are a route to third world status (and living standards). It has been said (with some truth unfortunately) that the US is a (re)developing nation. As I said previously, we have outsourced our ability to feed clothe and shelter our citizens. We can only hope that we re-establish those capabilities.
I think we're stronger that third world countries with our industries. Falling off the map was a figure of speech in relation to being a presence in the world
