The NEW ZEALAND Marketers Thread

Well, I think it is about time that we started a thread for all us Kiwi's. A place for us to introduce ourselves, share our experiences, network and talk about the weather (if you are that way inclined).

The most important thing in business, yes even online, is networking. You have probably all heard the old cliche "It's not what you know, it's who you know" well lets get to know each other a bit better so we can share our experiences and skills.

I will start off by introducing myself:

My name is Jared. I have recently started up my first 'real' online business www.RealEstateWhangarei.co.nz and hope to make a living off this and similar sites in the near future.

Although this is my first 'real' online business I have dabbled for a few years in small websites such as www.freegiveaways.co.nz and www.entrepreneurprofit.co.nz. It was by doing this that I learnt all I know and would encourage everybody who is starting out to set up a small website first before going all out.

I also own www.hostwithus.co.nz, a website hosting and design business.

Not sure what else to say - will add on below if I think of anything.

So how about you? whats your story?

    Hi Jared,

I have been on the internet for a number of years now, but this year is the first time i have written my own website to sell goods - coffee makers in fact www.CoffeeMakersDelight.com I chose to sell them to the American public as there is a heck of a lot more of them than there are of us! lol

I also use the internet for my investments. I did some forex trading for a while, have been a moderator of chat rooms for quite a period, but then settled back into letting other people make money for me while I did nothing. Now I have come across an interesting program that I need to promote, but I will get paid straight away not after a period of time has gone by, which is why that one caught my attention.

I hope to learn lots here that will help me promote my various interests in the best way possible.

    regards
    Patricia

    Hi Ceejay,

I'm not making a living yet, although one lives in hope. I run the website www.RealEstateWhangarei.co.nz and have plans for many others. This should hopefully provide for me in the future.

I also run the website www.freegiveaways.co.nz which between adsense and Pay Per Lead affiliate programs (in the sponsored listing section and home page of the website) make me on average $5 per day. This is nothing but I only really spend an hour a month on it and it is a hobby site more than anything

Did you set up your own site? or how did you go about your attempt at Affiliate Marketing?

I was making my living online, until I started writing my website selling coffee makers. Since then it has been all outgoings and no incomings. Of course, I will persevere until that changes. Having a website is a new area that I have entered, but I am sure I can master it given enough time.

    Hi Patrica.

I know the feeling. My website www.RealEstateWhangarei.co.nz has also been mainly outgoings - getting the website built - SEO - Marketing, it all adds up very quick.

I have one agent on there at the moment (yes only one) and hopefully a couple more soon, so hopefully I can turn this negative cash flow into a positive one.

    Hey guys

A thread for NZers at last! Actually I haven't been to DP much at all... spend most of my time on other forums and working on my own sites. I have about 5 membership sites that I run in the Internet Marketing niche and also a few niche sites. Not many kiwis in them though as most of my target audience is in the U.S. In fact - I don't think many Kiwis have really cottoned on to how much money can be made online yet... one day they'll realize what they're missing!

Well - good to see there ARE some kiwi marketers out there!

    Regards,

    Aaron

    Hi Aaron.

Why don't you post your websites so we can check them out. Do you market full time or do you have a day job? At the moment I have a day job, but plan to make a full time income with www.realestatewhangarei.co.nz and clones of that site within a year.

I hear what you are saying about NZ's and the internet, we are so naive when it comes to the world wide web. No body realises we can actually make money on it.

Well it's pretty hard to make money when you have +/- 10gb monthly datacaps and ridiculously slow internet speeds (100 kbps anyone?) :p

Where do you buy your .co.nz domains? And how much are they nowadays?

    Hi again

I would post my sites but unfortunately I need to get my post count up to do so... as I say - I haven't spent a lot of time in DP and can't post any urls until my post count hits 10 :)

I earn a full time living marketing online.... as I say - primarily in the Internet Marketing niche. Do a search on Google for MyMarketingGoldmine and you should stumble across one of my bigger membership sites - several hundred members strong. Alternatively search "Dave Isaacs and Aaron Leighton" ;-)

I'll post some once my post count gets up a bit as I tried earlier and got the message popup saying I wasn't allowed to yet. lol

Yeah, you do need 10 posts before you can post URL's.

It is great to finally meet a Kiwi who is actually doing well online. If you don't mind me prying, how well do you do? Just enough to get by? or enough to fund an early retirement?

Where abouts in New Zealand are you based? or have you moved on to bigger and better places?
