Anyone else noticed the huge increase in the number of websites ranking well that all have you landing on one page and forcing you to click view Next (reloading the page) in a slide or list??? It's getting annoying as hell too because I can't figure out how to switch my galleries and lists over to this style. *Sure this has been going on for a while, but all of my competitors have recently started doing this and now I'm seeing their crappy spammy sites with absolute ZERO writing, ranking top 3 for some very good keywords.
Example... Ranked number one for a keyword with over 110,000 searches a month... http://www.radass.com/sofia-vergara-hot/ ...Notice the spammy content at bottom of post too.
Lots of websites use the slide stuff now.. For example, The 10 Best Meme's of 2015. You'll hit the page and each of the 10 meme's would be in a slideshow, forcing you to reload the page to view each one. It's definitely annoying and I notice lots of news/celebrity type of sites use it. I wonder if the increase in pageviews for their ads is worth all the annoyance the visitors get. They probably don't have much returning traffic!
No it's definitely annoying, but they're all ranking in the top spots on Google. Let's just say one of my competitors started doing this and went from 20,000 unique visitors to well over 100,000 uniques a day... And they're gobbling up keywords on a daily basis by doing this crap. I just can't find anyone to edit my gallery so that it lands on slider gallery pages.
If you use spammy SEO methods, you will quickly get high rankings on search engines. Unfortunately, Google will completely remove your website from the search results as soon as they find out that you are using spammy seo methods. so definetly these sites will get penalized
Hi Nate. Are you referring to those crappy click-bait links and articles with annoying headlines like "You Would Never Believe What Megan Fox Said"? Obviously, you'll need to avoid posting the spammy content at the bottom of the page for obvious reasons. As for the list and slideshow thingy, it's actually pretty good, given that it kind of reduces bounce rate. Every time you switch to a photo, you are actually transported to a different page. I wouldn't recommend it though: customer convenience is more important than a statistic. As for them manipulating Google, they'll get the short end of the stick in the long run. You don't manipulate Google and get away with it: mark your calendar and laugh as your competitors get penalized. You don't trick Google, you CONFORM to it
