The new Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates Commercial - I don't get it

Has anyone seen the new Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates commercial? (The video is in the link below.) I really just don't understand how this helps Microsoft, but I guess it's mildly amusing.

You aren't alone. And 3 newspapers I read this morning all had a wtf moment.

 

If this is their response to Apple's campaign, well, it's a huge flop if you ask me. The Mojave Project is also a bust. It's only $400 million spent, oh well.

 

I have no idea, but maybe they are hoping to create some sort of buzz around themselves, to show that they are still alive.

 

I felt the same way. I saw it for the first time during a football game last night. I think it's a good idea to have Bill Gates, and Jerry Seinfeld in commercials together, but they need to have a punchline rather than a dragged on commercial.

 

That sucks, lol.

 

I was confused by this as well.

 

That is the point, the series will develop but the first episode is getting people talking.

Microsoft seems to be stuck in a rut of making startlingly bad decisions.
Thats is one of the worst ads I have seen in a while. Vista is one of the worst OS's I have used in a while.

 

if that commercial were an old dog, I'd have to "put it down"

 

that was a very stupid add. It makes the reputation of Seinfeld go down... lol

 

I saw that commercial last night, I did not like it very much because I thought
it did not make sense.

 

I am also rather unclear about the message of that ad.
