    No new search engine can compete against google for these simple reasons:
    1. Google is a cool, easy and fun name to remember.
    2. Google has a billion users which will hardly prefer something they've never used
    3. Google has the best algorythm for finding what you want
    4. Google is known Worldwide.

    What you have to remember is, most people aren't aware of what is going on the internet like the people who post here. All there really know is google and if it does the job there are very unlikely to change or look for an alternative.
