"Buddy" and the unnamed source... Seems like good-old-fashioned flame bait to me. Good luck, this isn't alt.brittanyspearsrumors.
No...my buddy isn't the source...it the paid newsletter (if your read the posts). Webmarketingnow.com is where you can learn more...highly recommended. It was my buddy (owns his own SEO firm) who checks his rankings on the different datacenters...I myself haven't seen much, but my rankings on google are getting better (again). I remember about the BD fix...they mentioned they were getting to work on that about a month ago (that's when matt cutts locked himself in his office and stopped posting on his blog). I personally haven't heard much in the update about the BD fix...but we're seeing changes in how google looks, the change in the #1 ranking...and several instances of keyword ranking on different datacenters...and to quote johnweb..."smells like an update to me".
i dont know if this is related to the current topic...... My home page still holds the pr of 4. Numerous of my 'internal' pages also had PRs.. many 3 and 2. But in the past few days... all of the PRs of these internal pages are gone... just get a white PR bar (pr 0 ?)... but home page is still rangked PR of 4 (as before). anyone think this is related to the apparent update ?
I saw a post yesterday...the guy labeled it "what makes a pr go down?". I didn't read it, but that may have the info you need. My subpages were all 3's, but I've switched over to os commerce and had to 301 my pages...unfortunately I did this right at the time of the pr update and they didn't carry over. I'm not worried though...I'm sure the next update will treat me well.
I have seen some different PR in my toolbar - fluctuating if you may, however, the toolbar itself might be the reason and not that an actual update is in place. It must be remembered that PR is constantly bein updated by Google, BUT, the visible PR is what constitutes an update ... so it may be that Google are now integrating PR more effectively into the toolbar to more accurately and readily update the PR closer to real-time instead of periodically every 3-4 months.
It seems to me that starting this year Google entered an Era of ongoing changes and this is we have to be with. Times when we had regular (mothly) updates have gone.
