The new blog posts are not indexed in google ... why?

I've been blogging for 4 months. As a part of SEO I do write articles also. So started to mix these two and posted the blog posts as articles in the article directories.

Recently I've changed the blog url format and from then Google is not recognizing it. The old posts that are indexed are well redirected to the new ones. I think i should say that i'd change the perma link format of the blog.

The new blog posts are not getting indexed by Google. Yahoo indexes it fast then followed by msn.

So If I submit the same post as an article in the ezine articles, it gets indexed very fast and for some keywords it even tops.

How to manage this situation so that my blog gets into the top of search results especially in google?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Idea 1: Submit the new blog posts to digg or netscape... google will usually index them quickly....

Idea 2: Don't use redirect from your old posts. Keep them at the same old url. But then add links to your new ones. Your old posts can stay in google archive and help build your organic hits....

I redesigned my website over a year ago and yet if I type in some of those old urls (even the ones that are not linked through my current site), they're still there and have high prs.

Idea 3: Don't use strange symbols (like ~ and ?) in your urls... google doesn't like to index urls with strange symbols.

How did you redirect the old URL to the new? It should be a 301-redirect, not an HTML redirect. Still, it can take some time. What would help would be to get links to the new URL's.

Your most recent post appears in at least 270 other places - why would Google want to index it? If you want to be indexed then start creating original content, not just copying whatever's out there.

The digg thing is really helpful in indexing ...

you can also submit your blogs to a new blog directory at topblogpages dot com. This directory will rank your blogs based on traffic and also its displays the latest posts from your blog for potential visitors. Just leave any suggestion for improvement ...
