It is not rare to find a site in the top ten SERP with 0 page rank surrounded by sites with page ranks from 3 to 5.

Yea- You are definitely right. The Google bots and much akin to pigeons -- they travel all over the place eating up and crapping on everything they visit.
Or maybe we should call it DuckRank!

I read the same post. I don't think there's any indication that it will directly help you in the SERPs, however - just in having your pages crawled more frequently. Which, all things considered, probably isn't a bad thing. :)

For me pagerank is a product of good rankings. The main reason sites get good rankings is they have lots of incoming links from valued sites that use good targeted anchor text. There are other reasons but I'm not going to go into them for reasons of simplicity.

This quantity of incoming links, as well as giving the target site good SERPS rankings also pass PR onto the target site.

    So rather than,

PR + links + anchor text = rankings

    I see,

links + anchor text = rankings + PR

    Hope that makes sense :)

This is a great idea :D thanks for sharing rickvidallon :)

They've used image maps for the links and that can come in handy when you have to show a slient some quick mock for approval .. with several pages in site ;)
