    Mind you, I think he did have a few pies before going in to it,

    I agree that skeptism is in order here: no scientists have been to verify that the boy really has that survival power, such that he doesn't need to eat/drink/go to the toilet. However, we also know that much of our world remains a mystery: many weird occurrances cannot yet be explained by scientists, though we are making progress all the time.

    So, before we dismiss this as a pure bluff, why don't we first classify this as an unproven thing?

    There should be a 24/7 webcam covering the boy from every angle. I'm sure that there will always be someone watching, so if there is some kind of feeding or bathroom action going on, someone would let us all know :)

    I don't believe it's possible but in the pics available, the boy looks dirty with long hair etc
    ... Anyway it needs much courage to do stuff like that just to get the attention of the media, poor boy he really needs a good shower & a haircut!
