I'd have to say forum participation is one of the most efficient link building strategies, if not the MOST efficient. You can kill many birds with 1 stone with this: - Build a link with every forum post (the obvious) - Get direct traffic via signatures - Keep yourself updated on industry news - A way to do some general research - Learn from what others have to share - Get ideas for articles/blogs/products etc. - Get your name out there and build some credibility - Find affiliates and JV partners The list goes on... By spending some time on forums a few minutes a day, the benefits can be overwhelming, as long as you're contributing and not spamming. Would you agree that forums is the most EFFICIENT link strategy? If not, what's the most efficient link building strategy in your view?
Its a good strategy, especially if your target is webmasters. I prefer commenting on blogs related to my sites. That way I can reach people people who are interest in certain topics as well as build links.
Yeah, I need to look into this some more because my strategy is lacking in some of these methods. I like the 2 birds with 1 stone concept because it will save time and money which are two things I happen to not have. -Alf
while forum posts are good, they should only be one of the items your using to build up your links, otherwise it can be a large issue in the long run. Like what happends when you run out of sig space, or if your account gets banned, or the forums get blacklisted?
For me, blogging and forum postings are effective ways of link building. Also, social media posting works well, too.
Efficent Strategy in my opinion would be to "take your time", Anyone can get "X" amount of backlinks in a really short period of time (Days) But, it's no good. Google will likely penalize you and what-not, the most effective method for me has (And always will) be taking your time to get healthy backlinks from relevant sites (commenting & link exchange) + social bookmarking on relevant niches and submissions to relevant directories.
an efficient link building strategy would consist of getting links from all available sources. You cannot ignore any of them. Like for example none of you have mentioned directory submissions or social bookmarking. These are also equally important in link building
Nice list Li, but you forgot the easiest and most efficient (and cheapest!) method - autoblogging. read the free ebook at bloggerhigh.com for a start on autoblogging
As I'm doing my work for the long time, my efficient link building strategy is forum posting through signature, blog commenting, and submitting links to social bookmarking sites. Doing this things all the way maintenance of a high PR on my sites.
I find that contacting the webmasters is pretty efficient and easy as well, depending on the niche. Blogger.com is a good place to begin, since they check their emails regularly and if you have a good site with good content they won't hesitate to add you, since you are helping each other out.
There is one very big setback - it's announcing your niche to other marketers. So, the tradeoff has to be great enough to balance that out.
I find that commenting on dofollow blogs is a good strategy. I have seen big jumps on the SERPs from my sites just doing this.. but of course the ideal is to get as much links as possible from all available sources.
Very helpful list! Thanks. Don't forget the activity of providing juicy blog post content too! Kind regards, Arnold
The benefits are good but it depends what you mean by 'efficient'. If by efficient you mean the most link juice and the easiest to acquire, then I wouldn't agree.
the easy and best way of promotion is forum posting as u said. This can do at any time and in any mood. But others like blogging, article submission, bookmarking is little diff and getting benefit from it very difficult. So make forum the main factor on promotion and update the knowledge by posting and reading forums. Also work on content properly. This will be drive some benefit
