According to me Google gives more weight to the links from the posts, So its better to write guest posts on popular blogs and put one link within the post. Only put where it is necessary so that owner of that blog won't remove your post

Yes Blogging and forums is what seems to do best. Just work hard on keeping links that have good value to the content that you are trying to sell.
