The more i SEO, the more i drop in SERPS !! Why ?!?!

I have a soccer website ( Stream live Sports ), where i post about the upcoming matches. around 2 - 3 weeks back, i used to be number 2 or number 3 on my post.. then i wanted to become number 1, so i started doing some serious link building.

On different days, i submitted my URL and RSS feed to blog and website direcotires

I started commenting on other soccer realated blog

Signed up on forums i used signatures to link my site...

I asked friends to link me, and bought 1 - 2 links from my competitors..

Apart from these i also did some basic link building tricks, but instead of moving upwards, i m continiously moving downwards.. from 2 - 3 i have droped to 4 - 5.. Sometimes i also see my self on number 8 and even on 2nd page..

What trick i m missing ? i m doing something wrong ? the things m doing are they blackhat ?? Please let me know the cause of this thing.. its really getting on my nerves..

That's normal...google dance don't think too much and concentrate on building backlinks and before long it will settle down. I have the same experience before my site stay at No.5 in SERP.

 

And there is another thing i want to improve..

Lets say i have done a post on my blog with the title, "watch fulham vs vfl wolfsburg"

Now when i search in google, " watch fulham vs vfl wolfsburg" i get ranked on number 2, but as soon as i search "Watch fulham vs wolfsburg" ( which means i removed the word vfl ) , I get ranked secondlast on page one.. Check out the pictures below





this doesnt happen with out site.. Other sites main their ranking even if there is a huge difference in the title.. please give me a working solution :$

 

Google has updated its algorithm, its directly effect on website to keywords ranking.

 

I show you in third position....but you URL structure sucks!

get rid of the /2010/03/31....these are "folders" so in essence this page is buried 5 folders deep when it should/could be 2 folders deep

your URL should be streamlivesports.com/watch-fulham-vs-vfl-wolfsburg-live-free-online-streaming/

also your meta is the same as the home page.....<meta name="description" content="Stream Your Favourite Sports Live for Free" />

set a unique meta description!

 

I think it's just the google dance, and a lot have been saying on all the forums lately that they have noticed weird results these days, even with no link building. But when you build a bunch of links all of a sudden, you can actually disappear from the rankings for a day, a week or longer. Just recently one of my sites that has been in the doldrums I decided I should give it some love and add some links. It's a failure of a site so far, no matter to me, I am patient. It was around position #60 in google (yeah I know that's bad). I did some link building, it dropped to 80, then 90, then 100. Finally, after doing that, a few weeks after the link building it appears to have settled at #49. So, now I know what kind of work I have to do to get it higher. You just never know. Be patient and don't panic. Google dances your site often after building links.

 

Then what should i do when the same two teams play again in future ? wp will automatically add "-1" in the end of the url.. is that ok ?

And about the meta description.. My posts have two descriptions.. one is like what you stated.. and other is generated according to the post automatically, here is the same ..<meta name="description" content="Liverpool are having a miserable season they have ever had in their life. Does this cause any possible problem ??

 

Ok, So how to trick that algorithim.. Like what i mean is there is always a way either from the front door or the back door.... Would adding keywords in the all-in-one seo plugin in Wordpress work :/ ?? Any trick you know could help me rise if the title isnt similar to mine ?

 

As far as I can see both are different keyword with different number of competing sites, that's is why it gets different ranking position . From the screen shot, the first keyword has 1.9M competing sites while the 2nd keyword has 124K competing websites (without quotes).

 

1. It's normal for you to see fluctuations in ranking.
2. You are doing some SEO on your site but it's possible that others are also continuously building links to their sites.
2. Google has indeed changed their algo recently, I saw some of my sites going up and some going down without much change on the sites or on backlinks to these sites.

 

The English speaking public knows Wolfsburg as "Wolfsburg", although the full name of the club is VFL Wolfsburg. VFL Wolfsburg is the lesser known name.

Likewise for Hamburg, we call it Hamburg, the actual name of the club is Hamburger SV. If you name your post " Watch XYZ vs Hamburger SV", you'll rank higher than people who write their posts as "XYZ vs Hamburg"

Your meta description seems off too- " Liverpool are having a miserable season they have ever had in their life. They were knocked out from the champions league and adding to that they are" is not your ideal meta description. Would probably make more sense to say " Watch Liverpool take on Portuguese giants Benfica live......" or " Live streaming of the Benfica-Liverpool game"

 

Hmm actually i was using an auto meta description plugin thats why it randomly generated that part.. Anyways, according to what i understood, Do you mean that i should start writing meta descriptions manually ? and should the description a part from the post it self, or could it be any thing different.. ?

 

I think all you are doing the rite tactics of the search engine optimization available for the optimization of the websites among different search engines, but all these mentioned activities required some time round about 3-6 months to show actual results for the targeted keywords.

 

I am facing a similar problem..

I had a webpage on the first page of google ( google.com) and its positions remained between 5 to 9 on the first page itself...
when I would do some good Backlinks from other websites the page would move upto 5th to 6th Position...

and this had remained I guess for the past 6-8 months...

But now, All of a sudden the page fell to the 3rd page of google at 29th position and now today later to the 83rd position at the 9th page of google..

I could now understand why..

I just built some backlinks around a week ago from some more websites and then this downfall ocured.. I do not undestand why..?

 

Its probably coz you never maintained ur ranking.. when u were on 5th postion.. maybe the people ranked under u kept doing seo and stuff, but you were just there enjoying your ranking.. maybe due to this they all came higer than you and you have dropped.. Anyways google also had released something like google caffine.. Maybe that also caused all this :$

 

ur position do not get lower because of off page activities except reciprocal links u might be wrong on on page

But that thing actually proved my ranking :$ .. To be sure, are u talking about the links i m giving on my post, liking to the same post that i m writing ?

 

I dont know exactly, but caffeine was one thing my friend was always talking about.. he was like our ranking has increased because of Google caffeine, and then like after 3 - 4 weeks, all of the sudden i start going downwards to the 2 - 3rd page, and he was like because google has stopped caffine :$ That guy is very active on DP, so i didnt bother asking him to prove me and stuff..

Anyways, a little googling about it would get you what exactly it is
