The more I avertise, the less traffic?

Ok so I'm fairly new to building proxies and such, and I need you guys' help.

I recently built 2 proxies BetaProx.com & MagicProx.com, one of which had some problems recently but that's all fixed. Anyway, ever since Sunday my traffic has been dropping from about 200-300 page views a day (on both) to about 20-30 views a day. I've submitted BetaProx to a bunch of topsites and I've been posting daily about both of them on the most populated proxy Yahoo & Google groups.

I just fixed a couple of problems with MagicProx, but BetaProx has always been fine. Any of you guys experienced this? Am I doing something horribly, horribly wrong?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks guys

Maybe you got too many backlinks within a short time period because search engines have auto spam filters that are set to detect unnatural behavior.

Make sure you don't use the exact same keyword as the anchor text for your website too because you may inadvertently set of spam filters.

well sometimes companys and what not block/ dont allow access from those proxies on the topsites... so in your advertising you might be getting yourself blocked from major companies/schools.

Not 100% sure if this is correct, but seems possible

I had thought about the possibility that they had been blocked, but I dismissed it since the sites are quite new. But if the spam filter is true, is there anyway around it? Do you guys have any tips on how to increase traffic?

Isn't that generally the point of "avertising" - to reduce traffic?

Since those sites are new, dont expect them to rank very well in google. And google is probably going to be your main source of traffic.

I looked at your BetaProx site, it seems pretty straight forward and easy to use.

Your site needs more backlinks. I went to google, and used the link: command, and your site shos 2 link, and both are from the site itsself. Get more links from high page ranking sites.

Since it's relatively new, you have to work harder on the advertising part. As mentioned, get more backlinks from high ranking sites. Just be consistent on promoting it and soon enough traffic will increase and stabilize. Good luck.
