The Money-Making Mindset

A lot of the time we research money making opportunities, most of which we never use. Well at least i do anyway :p. The ironic thing is that most of these ideas we come across actually will work if we put them into action, some better than others, yet most of the time we never do. This means that the difference between a successful internet marketer and someone who struggles to make peanuts online, is the difference in mindset.

If it's motivation you're after, I've found a few motivational videos on YouTube which work wanders for some (like me), and enforce the idea of just going for it and not giving up, because in the end that's all you really need to do.

If motivational videos aren't your thing (and even if they are), I would highly suggest reading books such as 'The 4-Hour Work Week' by Timothy Ferriss, 'The Richest Man in Babylon' by George S. Clason and 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill. Why? Because these books introduce techniques and concepts used by high-fliers yet are relevant to all types of business. Heck, check your library if you don't want to fork out any cash. If you're into ebooks, '5 bucks a day' by Dennis Becker is well worth a read as well.

What separates the successful businessman from everyone else is what goes on in their mind, this thought process can be learned, and just after reading 'The 4-Hour Work Week' I have been enlightened with new ways at looking at business online and off.

I hope my thoughts here can benefit someone, and would be delighted to hear your responses.

    Thank you.

I would have to concur that 4 Hour Workweek is pretty eye opening.

It's helped me to dramatically cut my hours over the last year.

Definitely an eye-opener, however I find it strays and drags on a bit towards the end when talking about travel.

It's great to hear your responses. :) Xmartel, thank you for the recommendation.

I used to be skeptical about all these 'get rich' books and thought they contained nothing more than psycho babble. After seeing that a few are actually getting very good reviews I decided to actually listen to one on audio book, and in fact found that they are very educational. It is thought that many successful businessmen started out reading books such as these and but most importantly TOOK ACTION.

In my opinion, you need to have to not only have the mindset, you need to have the drive, and something to aim for. If you are just making money online for a bit of extra cash on the side, then thats great. But for me, just think of the holiday you'll be able to afford with this extra cash, or think of your kids face when you give them the toy they really wanted or whatever you are doing it for. Think of the reward. Then it will be more appealing.

But, everyone is different, and are motivated by different things

That is one point that comes across in many of the books I have mentioned. You won't be truly motivated if there's nothing to be motivated for.

I always just watch "300", either I'll end up going on a killing spree, or actually getting a lot of work done...there's a pretty obvious message to the movie...

So far the latter has been the most resourceful outcome ;).

Motivation is great. Reading books like that get me psyched up for a little bit, but for motivation nothing is better than physically putting a picture of what you want in front of you on the wall (vacation, house, car, charity, etc). That is a constant reminder to me when my thoughts begin to stray minute by minute.
