Akismet, the secret tool of the WordPress.com blogs that keeps them spam free (compared to dodgy old blogger blogs) is now available for all wordpress blogs. Sure you need a wordpress api but you don't have to actually use that wordpress blog... I've been using Akismet for about a month and it's been awesome. From trawling through dozens of daily spam I know just get to confirm that Akismet can "delete all". And the good stuff still gets through! It gets 5 stars from me!
