Twitter has made Dell $1 million in revenue

Above is the original blog post.

$1 million in revenue in the last 1 and
a half years just from twitter is not
    bad at all.

All they did was put out discount sales
    updates to their followers.

I checked them out on twitter. Although
Dell has a few different Twitter accounts
for different divisions, all their updates
are only in the hundreds. Most profiles
    less than 500 updates.

Okay, it's true that Dell leveraged existing
brand power, but Twitter is also a great
way for branding and build credibility by itself.

    Absolutely.

One of the key aspects of twitter is that of someone typing that message minutes or even seconds ago!

People love when stuff is live, and this is very close to live.

    Excellent find Weng,
Interesting read too 'cause recently I've written about Twitter and it can be manipulated as a great marketing tool.

There's a reported 4-5 million twitter accounts!!!!! With another 5k-10k made new everyday!
It's really a gold mine for marketers and waiting to be exploited sooner or later ;)

Tweetbay.com has launched classified site that integrate with twitter, I think it will make twitter a nice platform for Buying & Selling products among social circle.

Yeah, the people who I see using the site as intended seem to be having great results with it. The spammers will get banned or ignored and complain that it doesn't work.:)

Good find, but I don't think most people are quite that lucky. I'm going to give Twitter a shot since there has been so much discussion here lately. I setup my account af ew minutes ago. Unless you have a large following, I just don't think you'll recieve much traffic from this thing.

Joined twitter today and I'm addicted!!! I had a myspace page but pulled that down a year ago, I may go back and put one up. Twitter is another great way to promote your site!

I'm using it for my site comedyworld - though my site is a niche site with in a larger market (concert tickets). I'm going to use it to get in contact with others I know and spread the word on my site!
