Just thought it would be interesting with a discussion on how these .cn malware sites managed to get their good rankings. Not so anyone can do the same but because it tells us a lot about the algorithms used by Google and others from an SEO perspective. For those not familiar with it, read this article. I guess one thing we learned is that they did not have to use the keywords in their URLs
It's been going on for quite some time, i won't say "how" they are doing it but i will say Google have their hands full with this mess. They are eliminating the malicious URL's, however from what i have studied it's still a manual process and Google don't have an algo implementation to solve it.
Seems like quite a mess. I'm not gonna post any of the search terms since I don't want anyone to click on those by mistake but the links are still out there in the SERP's for some keyphrases.
This is a major hole for all SE. TBH i'm not suprised something like this has happened, SEO is used for evil as well as good, it's like the force but a lot more boring.
