    About the site
The Lost Blog is one of the world’s most popular websites dedicated to the ABC TV-series “Lost”.

The site has been mentioned in articles by Google, The Guardian and an uncountable number of websites, books and magazines. We have received interview requests from MSNBC and TIME Magazine. Through the site, I have also worked with Lost production company Touchstone Television to help them find suitable persons for their Advisory Panel.

We have a very active reader base and often host very intelligent discussions in the comments of the blog. It is not unusual to see over 150-300 comments on posts focusing on episodes or theories. We currently have over 500 posts and close to 8,500 comments.

The posts have been written mainly by myself, but around 100 of them are written by other contributors.

The site is the first result on Google searches like "lost blog" and "new lost", on the first page of keywords such as "lost episode" and "lost news" and the first result on the third page for the highly competitive keyword "lost".

The Lost Blog is running on the latest version of Wordpress. The layout has been custom designed by me and has gone through a lot of tweaking to get it as close to perfection as possible. Plugins and features like polls and notification of new comments since the last visit have been implemented and customized for the site.

    Domains
Besides lostblog.net, the domain http://www.thelostblog.net would also be included in the sale. The domains are registered with Namecheap and can be easily pushed or transfered.

    Reason for selling

I'm still a dedicated fan of "Lost" but have decided to focus 110% on my writing/directing career.

    Traffic Details:

I have not bought any traffic. The visitors come via Google, affiliate sites or through direct hits. Around 80-90% of the visitors live in the US.

    Other thoughts

Ideally, I'm looking for a buyer who wants to maintain the sense of community with the regular readers.

The Lost Blog is know for not posting or allowing discussion of spoilers. Most current readers seem to appreciate that.

I'd be willing to help the new owner settle in during 2-3 weeks after the sale.

If you have any questions, just ask!

Nope, I'm sorry. Since I plan to focus on my career as a screenwriter I'm not able to trade for other sites.

    Good Luck with the sale...

I dont know why I am so drawn to this thread, I am sure that this could be a huge money maker.

To the new buyer give me a pm, and I'll drop an idea I had that could probably make you some nice change fast.

It is not a free template, I have designed and coded the site (built on Wordpress) from ground up. Glad you like it, but the layout will not be sold separately.

I'm working on screenshots of the stats but for some reason my server is messing with me. Meanwhile, there are some pictures over at Sitepoint though.

As for a reserve price, I'm looking for at least $3000, but if the highest offer ends up being $2800 I might have to reconsider.

How long it takes to manage the site depends on how long articles you want to write and how much research you want to do, it can take anything between 30 minutes to 5 hours. You could probably get away with only posting a new article every second day but the visitor amount would probably drop a bit.

Either way, I will let the buyer know my techniques to find news and so on :)

Because I think the site is worth that much. As I wrote above I'm willing to sell for a lower amount.

As I understand BIN it is supposed to be a price directed at someone who wants to bypass the traditional auction/offer process and buy the site directly without having to compete against others. Maybe I'm mistaken?

    Its definatly worth it.

This is not a standard sale, this is one of those sites that comes by only once in a while.

This is a great site. I would certainly buy it if I were a Lost fan and felt I could maintain the content.

Very nice. You've done an awesome job with this blog. Like everyone else has said, if I had the money I would definitly bid on this. I'm sure there arew quite a few large bloggers here at DP that will consider purchasing this.

    Very nice work :)
