We can't say the time duration, Once your site is in sand box it will be monitored after confirmation of your site is not spam your site will be released from the sandbox.

For that long time, i would suggest you change to use another domain name.

actually it depends on the time of crawling of your site. Google Sand box a site by crawling it and it will be OK if your site is OK until the next crawl.
    thanks

First things first, there is nothing called sandbox... Its existence is just a myth. If you think your website is not getting indexed from past 6 months you should have tried to find out the reason. You have wasted your time by sitting idle in a hope of getting out of sandbox itself. Try to get your webpages indexed by submitting your Sitemap to Google and by getting backlinks from popular websites which frequently get crawled.

No one can't say exact time, But we can release again from sand box within 120 days (as per google saying but taking less time)

No there is really no time period at all. I've seen sites in there for well over 6 months.

Try this: Go to Google Trends and start writing content for rare terms (where there's little content). Ping them, tweet, etc. Do this for one or two weeks. Good Luck.
