    70 Years without Christmas.

It was not a Christian nation after Communism took over.

    And what happened in 1991?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia

It was no longer under full communist rule and so Christmas could once again be celebrated.

Educate yourself. The information is out there.

Just like Hitler, Stalin chose to give up his religion in favor of a political ideology. They were no longer Christians because Christianity got in the way of their goals. Their goals required the murder of millions of people in an effort to purge religion because it was unsuitable for their governments.

Just because you are born into a religion doesn't mean you always believe it. Those two fell away and murdered millions to force everyone to go with them in their pursuit of atheism. Both may have started off Christian but they rejected all religion when they began their crimes against humanity.

    Wow, dont you know that:

Christmas celebration is for catholic people, and New's year Eve for orthodox + 6-7 January is orthodox ? That does not make it not christian celebration.

What you said is that catholic celebration was not celebrated for 70 years, not christian.

If you want to know, Russia were always orthodox and now it is. Orthodox = Christians.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Orthodox_Church#Russian_revolution

So they murdered millions in a quest to purge religion but ultimately "allowed" a specific church to exist because prior to the revolution that church was the government. And maybe also because Stalin was a "softy" towards it.

I already explained how it is that churches can exist in such societies. And it's reiterated in that article: churches can exist so long as they don't influence people contrary to the government and keep their mouths shut.

Both Hitler and Stalin gave up their religion in favor of the government they were trying to establish. Stalin was Russian Orthodox. Not Christian. His allegiance was to the church. Not the people. If Lenin had gotten his way, even the Russian Orthodox Church would have been destroyed. But it was useful to him as a political tool.

that does not necessarily mean that they were atheists, if they were atheists and with that power and madness, any churches would be wiped out and probably by now whole Russsia would be atheistic.

Are atheists really so powerful that everything they set out to do they accomplish? And that was precisely Lenin's goal to make Russia atheist. Just because they didn't succeed doesn't mean they didn't try or have the desire. They have to get past God first.

They "failed" because the Orthodox Church was to Russia what the Catholic Church was to Rome.

That's why there was no hesitation in wiping out every other religion in Russia including all non orthodox Christian churches. The OC was allowed to exist purely for political reasons but was marginalized and gagged.

It's hard to get the population to support (or ignore) your genocide when you include the majority of the people in that genocide.

If they could do it without force and let people leave without threat it would be a different story now wouldn't it?

A religion which grows by the sword and prescribes people to convert others by force cannot be really quoted as a religion. You have to dig deep to understand everything and to me the only true religion is one which allows man to live as he is and doesnt force him upon anything - It's just a way of life

It would also appear that no religion will break Islam's record of violence as well.
