I'm just surprise that people voted some as honorable who are cashing in on the success of web directories such as wowdirectory and botw. Isn't this a little bit hypocritical considering that we add people imitating some directories to the QBC list?

 

I hope mine makes the list soon?

I am working hard to get my directory up there amongst the ranks.

I guess you didn't PM me or didn't see the threads regarding the list before. I acknowledge that I missed many DP directory owners. I apologize for that, but any potential candidate was to PM me or post in the threads, which were made about 2-3 weeks ago. Please understand that I tried my best to include as many Dp directory owners as possible. (and I still missed many)

I have some names already to include in the next survey, and I think this one would be much smaller, so I hope people would take the survey for those new directory owners (new in terms of in the survey).

 

I will add you too!

Don't worry I have already got you for the next survey.

As for those new directory owners who want to be in the survey, please know that if you are very new and not "connected" with other directory owners, you won't receive many positive votes. It's pointless for new directory owners to be in the survey as other directory owners will not be able to give you any positive vote. (PM me though if you think many other directory owners know you )

I realized that it takes time for other people to notice what you do or who you are in the business. But I don't mean just time itself. It doesn't matter how long you have been in the directory business. It's basically the time you spend to get connected with other DP directory owners by;

business deals (selling or buying links)
helping the directory (mods, designs, etc)
helping the business (giving tips, advice, free offers, etc)

As I have gone through each survey result (took easily 3 hours), I can easily conclude that most people didn't just cast positive votes for those who are popular in the forum either.

I am very glad that the survey result turned out to be most likely reliable resource as it really is not popularity contest.

Top 10 people got there not because of how popular they are. Their popularity or fame followed them because of their good busiensses and strong connections with other directory owners.


More interesting facts:

• mystikmedia has earned the 2nd lowest number of vote "Yes" in the list
• only 12 people got exact stats

I will give you the result if you request. But I think this time, I want to do that to those who ask me instead of displaying the whole stats here. Unless many of you guys want me to show the stats here. (stats of votes "highly recommended" and "yes" only)
