    If some one dose succeed, a hole gets discovered and can get fixed with no harm done.

    If no one succeeds think of the PR for them and Linux. :D

    I'm sure someone will succeed :) There are plenty of holes all over the system - it's just a matter of looking hard enough to find them. The thing about linux though is that most of the stuff (at least that I run), comes with the source files so when a bug is caused by a library, everything can be patched. It might not be as easy as an auto-update, but it is waaaay more thorough than say what MS did with the whole GDI problem.
