Wow! Okay, you guys convinced me. Thank you for taking the time to point out the errors in my corrupted logic! From this day forward, I will live as a liberal. I will vote not for Democrats, but AGAINST Republicans. They are evil and should be disemboweled. Thank you for converting me! PSYCHE!
Those who misquote Ben Franklin to self-loathe on behalf of their country should not be allowed to quote: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=637537&postcount=16
Well, I'm a progressive and I once envisioned an idea where congress would come to session and ONLY be able to REPEAL laws. Maybe for 1 or 2 sessions of congress actually. So, yes, there are people on the left who feel we have plenty of statutes to go around.
From the wikiquote page referenced in the above post: Researchers now believe that a fellow diplomat by the name of Richard Jackson to be the primary author of the book. With the information thus far available the issue of authorship of the statement is not yet definitely resolved, but the evidence indicates it was very likely Franklin, who in the Poor Richard's Almanack of 1738 is known to have written a similar proverb: "Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power."
Thanks e_hippie, that was very thoughtful of you to confirm my point. People should not be misquoting others.
Those were both cool pages. The map definitely shows the proportions of population, etc... Kinda shows you the 50/50 that happened The second one with the states listed needs to show debt to income ratio or cost of living for the areas to be a better view of poor vs. rich. I have seen places where people make double what I do, but can't even afford a small house, some of those places are the blue states. Doing this would give the effect the map did on the first link. I would be considered poor according to many, but I don't feel very poor. Just wait, when I move to the D.R. I may be wealthy for a while there.
