There are theories out there on the internet about whether this is true, which makes sense to me, however it is almost impossible to know if it’s true or not. So, based on your experience will this double your ctr? How many ad blocks do you prefer on a webpage? Regards.
No, Ad placing will increase your CTR. Dont put many ads above the fold, 1 ad is enough above the fold, the rest blend it on your content, or even before the comment section. It will not increase your CTR or CPC if you have less ads on your site.
Now that depends upon ad placement. A single good ad placement can get you good CTR's. I generally see ads below title get good CTR's. So more ads , more profit but more ads can distract your visitors.
How about make it just a natural organic traffic? instead of worrying about the less ad blocks i got, just dont pay much attention to that. Natural way was the safer way.
We try to limit to 3 ad placements, one in the header, a side bar and a footer... currently on www.urgentfury.com we have an ad campaign that came in for 2 weeks that is a page overtake so in addition to the 3 ads, we added a site skin.
Interesting, but the theory behind this is that the fewer ads you have on a website the less competition there is on the page and adwords works off bidding and competition, so people pay more for less competition. Not sure if this what has caused the increase in revenue. That's make sense. Absolutely, natural organic traffic is the key to blog/site success. Any thought on how to increase the ctr? Regards.
One Ad On Top , One Mid Of Post And One In Comments Section Are Enough And Have Better CTR ...! I Personally Use This Way
Well whilst it won't up your CTR if you have less, you do stand a chance of getting a higher CPC as the first ad serviced by adsense always has the highest value clicks in it (Allegedly). If you are running 3 blocks that have 4 ads in each, then clearly not all of the ads are going to pay out the same as the advertisers won't all be bidding the same. I now run just two blocks in the main
People get blind to ads if there are a bunch, but pay attention to a few eye catching ads. 3 is not a bad number, though. And sometimes having only 1 ad actually makes a site look suspicious, as if its merely a doorway portal.
I don't think there is a magic number. There are many factors that must be taken into account such as how much content, ad position and so on.
Thanks for the reply. There's good point to limit ad blocks on a webpage. I will limit mine to 2 blocks. Alright then, have you test it out before? Indeed, you have valid points there. If you don't mind, can you tell us which ad positions will get click the most? Thanks, Best Regards.
okay if you have 3 blocks , and they click on 1. The CTR is then 1:3 for that particular page at that exact instance in time (noting the next person may not click on anything). If you have 1 block showing 4 ads and they click on 1 it's 1:1 at that exact instance in time - this gives a general idea why less can be more
