An interesting read, but in a clueless sort of way (from a search professional's point of view). Idiotically sensationalist quote from the leader of Wordstream about Google's pre-Hummingbrid "caveman English" (talk about newsjacking to commercial advantage!). It's very naive that Google started its semantic search in response to something that Facebook or other "social media" pulled off. Get real, Google is far and away the unparalleled trailblazer and leader in semantic search, and has been for a long time, and Facebook cannot even dream of coming close to that.

A pet peve, what the hell is "latent" search? The phrase makes no sense. The word comes from "latent semantic indexing," no doubt. Empty pseudo-technical jargon.

That is true, Facebook and Google, absolutely no comparision. Google dominated that aspect in terms of online search and existing platform.

Glad I am not the only person thinking so. Pointless marketing mumbo-jumbo BS terms thrown around by black hat SEOs, link spammers, article spinners and other slime to try to make themselves look smart, but in fact stupid!

In clear English, what Google is doing is trying to provide their audience (not spammers) with a better experience (as they understand this is how to make money!). Take a look at the app Google Now and then came along Hummingbird and all the other cool things they are doing, but some so-called SEOs are too full of hate because Google doesn't like their crappy spun "Make Money Online" blog (or whatever) they can't see and understand.

    /End of rant.

As a content writer that's worked with God knows how many clients, I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't get caught up in the "LSI" crap.

Whenever I see clients who want "LSI Keywords" or "Keyword Density" related stuff, I can't help but think of the Warrior Forum where people make crap up all day and religiously follow it.

Also, when are these blogs going to stop trying to compare Facebook products and launches to Google? Usually, when something has the Google name on it, I know it works and it's good. However, when something from Facebook launches that I want to try out, I go in with the attitude already knowing that it's going to be halfway done, half the features won't work and it'll obviously be untested internally.

Hell, the main motto of the Facebook office is "hack" and to see how much crap you can pump out. They believe in the "release it and fix it later" motto. Graph search is a cool tool but it's far from being fully developed.

It's still not as bad as what a lot of the Warrior Forum believes.

They put the word "Drip" in front of everything and think it's revolutionary.

"You need drip feeds for SEO!"
"You need drip links for SEO!"

What the hell are drip feeds?
