Remember the days of truly useful threads where members would post real usable information rather than pick holes in posts/ideas. Well if you long for those days here is a thread to help. What is the most important thing about marketing, of course its researching your market and on the internet we do that by researching keywords to find niches. I will admit I am rubbish at keyword research and currently have a "oooh that looks like a good idea mentality" and hence I end up with low trafficked sites. So what are your practical keyword research tips to find a niche? Where do you start? What tools do you use? How do you know a keyword/niche is the right one to develop a site around?
Assuming you're looking for a profitable niche market, using few keyword tools such as google adword/wordtracker, you can get an idea about few potential niches based on search volume but it all depends on your expertise for specific field and the markets really appeal you at the most.
start by choosing a genre or area of interest then brainstorm all words I can think of to start a search with yep googles keyword and wordtracker tools does it for me then i do some du-dilligence like going to article directories see how many people are posting on that topic and generally search online to see potential competitors. now i have moved onto more automated content (not article spinning, i mean systems that convert articles into near human written articles so they are unique!) to be honest i choose more niches than I used to. I used to be far more pickier as I had to write the content for the sites but now its automated as long as it meets my criteria on searches V competition then I just go for it.
