The Viral Buzz.. So you heard about the thing called the Viral Buzz and you have seen other sites go from NAY to YAY overnight so you know what I'm talking about. The thing you don't think about probably is that this happens everyday to tons of different websites and therefore Google knows what a true viral buzz looks like. They know what it consists of, they know how it exponentially grows and slows down, they know-all because they have the access to see it in real time and analyze it very very closely. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN: This means that the number of links are important and the quality of links is important BUT you will never be able to create a fake viral buzz without the info Google knows. PROOF: If a site takes off and gets 2,000 to 20,000 links, you can guarantee Google knows what % of those links should be PR1, PR2, PR3 and when you start talking about 20,000 links and none of them are from an official news source... it's almost impossible unless it's blackhat or something fake. A viral buzz naturally occurs in nature in nature and comes from human behavior therefore it can be mathematically graphed and analyzed for patterns. THE CONCLUSION: It's the exponential growth and decline they look at. The growth has to have a tree-like growing pattern with certain qualities in order to count as a true viral buzz. A true organic site that gets lifted due to great content also doesn't have a huge decline either. It grows and stays steady creating a very very slow downward curve if we were to graph it. If the downward curve happens too fast, it means it was a 1 time marketing ploy or a link building scheme that really brought 0 interest from the public and Google will look at it like you had your viral chance and your content on the site wasn't enough for WHATEVER reason. I hope this makes sense. The doctor diagnosed me with visions of grandeur like it was a bad thing. Think Big. LJ
Depending on the niche the linking patterns would be very different. The PR patterns would be different for different niches too. I don't know how you can say this there is any proof to what you claim. Just because a website doesn't get links on a consistent basis or to some set pattern, it does not mean that the website is not an important resource for a certain keyword. Google wants natural linking. So why would they give extra weight to something that is just suddenly popular and then gradually dies off? That is an obvious sign that the marketing department did something.
yes, google wants natural linking, exactly the point. This means the problem is NATURAL has been analyzed by Google because they have the data to do so. If Google ever classifies what "Natural" is, this will mean you will have to be an artist of link building and not just a brute. Why would Google base a billion dollar business on an algorithm that can be bruted. They are going to make the algorithm as intelligent as possible as they understand the life span of websites more and more through the analysis of everyone's searching patterns combined with the growth and decline of sites on the net. So you get 20,000 links from some program, great. You get 0 people searching for you in the engine... uhhhh... wait, maybe Google decided not to hire the most intelligent AI and Search Nerds in the world and decided to hire some script kiddie to who overlooked that. You get 20k links, you better believe that your site will have to be directly searched for at least from 20 IPs.. why wouldn't Google think of that? If it HOLDS TRUE to every ORGANIC VIRAL BUZZ why would they not include that? I'm stupid though so I'm probably wrong.
