Call Immediately to prevent property loss
Final notice of intent to levy and notice of your right to a hearing.

We've written to you before asking you to contact us about your overdue taxes.

1: The IRS is corrupt run by corrupt people.
2: Never was I contacted by the IRS of a debt.
3: I have gotten a IRS refund for the last 5 years.
So how could I owe a debt on 2010 taxes?

I understand clearly how the IRS racket is run now. The IRS makes claims
of contacting the person that owes the debt, which is false; My guess they
waited 3 years, then all of a sudden out of the blue this levy notice shows
up in the mail from the IRS; another guess is, if I did owe the IRS money,
then it would have been a small amount so the IRS has sat on this "you owe"
debt for the last 3 years racketing up interest and penalties, then when the
IRS feels fit to do so, they send out this letter which by then has racked up
an outstanding balance of mostly interest and late fees. This levy notice
was sent certified, so if you have contacted me before, then show me
proof of past certified letters; since the IRS claims they have contacted me
then they should be able to show proof, right, of course they have no such
proof because they have never contacted me regarding this bogus tax debt.

There was no proof attached to the levy notice. It is nothing more then I am supposed to take their word for it; You owe us, pay us, or we will take everything that you have, or what we can get our hands on....

The IRS itself is a racket, and scam.

I realize this is an old thread, but may still be relevant.

Call them and tell them that you never received any notices. Normally they send letters, then send them certified mail to make sure that they are delivered.

You'll also need them to send you an account transcript and a return transcript for the year(s) in question. Take those to a good tax guy (PM me if you need one) and get it straightened out.

And yes it is a racket and a scam, but they have the laws and the guns. So you have to deal with it.

Not to beat a dead-horse here, but for what it's worth to DS and anyone else interested in reading this:

The IRS has legal obligations and policies in place to protect it's decisions and actions made in, from, to, or against a consumer, or vice versa.
I appreciate and respect that different people will have very different experiences, and opinions on government entities such as the IRS.

With this being said, specifically coming not only from someone who works with and for the government, but also someone who has utilized this specific resource in the past, please consider doing so in the future should you have any issues of similar nature. Check out: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-a-Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

Tax Payer Advocates are in place to help represent and preserve the financial well-being of law-abiding tax payers, in scenarios ranging across the board.

Sure, perhaps there are some "bad apples" within the IRS system. But we have to appreciate, that because the IRS is such a large (government) organization, that there will always be stories (undoubtedly legitimate in many cases I'm sure) of unfair treatment, prejudice, neglect, etc. just as there are within any (especially large) organizations. Look at the military for example, many branches are practically some of the biggest "organizations" in the country, considering the amount of 'employees' or soldiers within them. All the best of luck to you. William

    Are they threatening asset forfeiture?

If so, you need a lawyer, not just a CPA. PM me, I can hook you up with the guy to talk to (I've been through something similar before, it sucks).
