Wheras much of india rejoices with the comming of the monsoon season .. being primarily an agricultural country it is quite joyous , however to some internet users it means hours & days of downtime with blown off switches (switches blown off during lightning are a very common feature) & cutting of the wires due to tress falling on them & so on. ... anyone with similar tales ? Any one feels my pain

In Guwahai , Assam the monsoon season is really terrific. The yearly flood damage entire state's back bone. Last year i got 17 disputes in paypal within 96 hrs for not delivering items when Internet was unavailable due to heavy flood and thunder storm.

I have a record 35 stays offline history.

Two years back, lightning destroyed 3000 modems of my ISP in a single strike,...it took them 35 days to find 3000 new modems and restore all connections back. :D.

yes, the days are back! am planing to get a gprs, my bsnl broadband will be down for weeks or months in that period!
hard time is going to come:eek:

not exactly, i have big invertier and battery to keep it online for days, then i have a generator!!
for internet, i do have a lot of options, so living in this area is not all that disadvantagous!!
