Was there peace? Milosevic was massacring the Muslims, that was not too long ago, surely these aren't forgotten so quickly?
Totally agree with wisdomtool There hasn't been peace anytime in Balkans and we all know that there won't be for a long time. This is not because of the nowadays situation but it started hundreds years before and I dont think there will be peace in the Balkans (When I mean peace I also mean good and reciprocal conditions with each other)
haha, none of you are from serbia so please dont talk about something that you cant talk about. You guys can only say what you hear or see or read from media, im from serbia and i`ve been there while milosevic was president and YES there has been PEACE.. like someone already said you guys just eat what media serves you.. media is buyable like almost everything in the world and have you guys ever hear something about propaganda ? Once again Milosevic has nothing to do with this mistery, what he tried was back then when USA started conflicts in kosovo prevent that was happening today, sure he was not one of the good guys but serbia was not living that bad while he was prez so dont talk BS about milosevic if you dont know anything about him.. Most of you just exactly say what most media reported about serbia or milosevic but if you have never been in serbia then you cant tell anything about it.. Im having a hard time to explain myself since english is not my native language, i stil hope you guys understand what im trying to explain.. I dont want to sound rude to anyone as this is just a discussion and most likely wont change anything.. but please dont blame serbia for something you can not proof it actually did.. and whoever says that kosovo`s indepence is good, i say that this will cause a big chain reaction which most probably will lead to way more conflicts then we actually need. and take a minute and think about the current situation.. there is no war anywhere, only country that is causing war over the world is USA (iraq/kosovo) i guess someone is becoming very greedy as i dont see any other reason to do this First USA did attack iraq to get Saddam, ok fine they got him, then they were looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction, ok according to the media they have been found and secured. Now the Question is why are they still in Iraq ? And now i guess since it will become obvious that USA is still in iraq for no reason they just simply cause trouble in a diffrent country so no one talks about Iraq anymore.. Ok i think i wrote enough for now, feel free to comment on it regards everyone
IMHO it is true that Serbians were not living that bad when Milosevic was in power, but the Muslims in Serbia was in Hell undergoing ethnic cleansing. This happened not long ago. Surely one can't forget so easily. Also where Milosevic worked before he came to power did not seem to matter. Unless it was proven that USA govt or CIA taught him the basics of ethnic cleansing.

I beg to differ from that, no one has been brain washed. What happen in Iraq cant be compared to what happen in Serbia, the ethnic cleansing was real and had been proven by the International Courts at Hague. Iraq war especially using the WMD does not stand.
What about the things that weren't proved? The murdered, beaten and exiled serbians from kosovo?? Albanians weren't just innocent victims, there were losses on both sides you know. Milosevic didn't just declared war on a bunch of albanians who peacefully lived there without any particular reason. Those were terrorists for christs sake! I don't approve the tactics and force he used, maybe he went too far, but please don't just point a finger at him like he was the bad guy! For a conflict to arise two parties are required.

Ok, maybe you are right about my statement, let me rephrase it in your way: Two parties aren't always required for a conflict to arise, especially when there is a mad man in charge. But comparing this situation to the events of WWII is just silly. It seems that you are way off course with the knowledge on this topic. Did the Jews burn down churches? Did they terrorize the german population to deserve that? Were there any massive graveyards of german people before it all began? No. By the way, Winston Churchil was the prime minister of England through out the World War II, does that make him a bad guy?

Olgi has his own opinion as you had yours. I think we do have differences in opinions with regards to the topic but it is still best to accept and respect each others' differences rather than calling it BS or names to that effect. This is a public forum, it wouldn't reflect good on you.
You better don't refer to Albanians like that, you should have a good look at the inhuman massacres that Serbian army did to the Albanians in kosovo, they didn't respect any of the international war laws , they killed children's, mans womans old and young people , they did not make any difference
