I'm against it. This will set a precedent for other separations. The EU are also very hypocritical about this whole situation. They say it's a "special situation" but I don't see how it's different from the turks in cyprus wanting to separate or the guys in Osetia in Georgia wanting to separate or the basques in northern spain and southern france wanting to separate. Yet they don't allow them. How is the albanian situation different?
They will propable get their indepentance today (Sunday) but it will not be easy. Servia will not allow it that easy. And Russia are against them... Edit: Cuprus is really different...
It doesn't matter who's against it and who's for it, what matters is who has the money and Russia and China don't have any. Kosovo is the biggest drug trafficking route in Europe. All the heroin from Middle East goes through Kosovo to Western Europe and United States.
China is flushed with cash from its near miracle economic growth, Russia is from the rising oil prices and both countries' armies are more than a million each.
EU is provoking every minority around the world based on religion, sects or race to destabilize regions who don't serve their agenda. Freedom card is a two way road, it's no wonder same weapon influences and used by some else. And Cyprus is already literally seperate by all means for over 30 years, it's just not yet recognized, suffering embargos despite all the promises from EU side, and even when they have agreed with the UN plan, namely Annan plan.

Funny ? I don't get where is the funny part here. Serbia will never accept this fact and there will be big conflicts
War? Don't be silly. If Serbia would be allowed to do anything, they would have done something long time ago. They can still cut Kosovo short of electricity and water but they're not allowed to do anything. Serbia is yet another puppet of European Union and EU is yet another puppet of United States and Russia (or China) can't do anything because that would start another world war. Nobody wants a war, not now.
Serbia has been defeated by negative demographics and their own aggression. Around 1880 the Serbs were a majority and as late as 1999 30% of Kosovo was Serb.
I am against giving each group of people that want their own country- independence. I detest the idea of walking my dog, and finding myself in another country.
What is happening on Kosovo is that that the Kosovo Albanian's was declared independence on someone else teritory, and the Serbian people are blocked from the called "Peace Mission Array" there, so the question is are they really the "Peace Mission Array", or just a path for enabling for criminals and terrorists to do what they want, and to conquest someone else teritory?! When I was watch on the TV what the Albanian do on my Serbian teritory, I was asking myself what they do, are they aware?! Maybe they are also leading from the West, but although on Kosovo is population of Albanian people much bigger, Kosovo is Serbian land, physicaly and spiritualy. It is very obvious that this is criminal act, and that the Western politic is something far away from what they represent as themselves, and far away from democracy, and his backing the independence of Kosovo is prove for that. The countries from Europan Union who supports the independence of Kosovo is mostly the countries that are under great influence of the West, but if the European Union steps into criminality, what is the purpose of getting Serbia into the European Union then?! Serbia cannot get anywhere if it is destroyed first, and anyone who say that it is a friend of Serbia and wants to destroy them because of his interest is a false friend, or, in better words, enemy of Serbia and Serbian people. In short words, the independence of Kosovo can destroy all international human rights that is the core of United Nations. This is the battle between the Truth about human rights that every people and nationality have, which is constituted in United Nations (it is even ridiculous to writte about that in 21. century), and some pervert interests and politic. Those who are with Unclean Intentions, Bribed, and with Twisted hands will be the first to recognize Kosovo. This Bush administration badly wants to create sources of tensions so some in US can have personal benefits. There is a saying "What goes around comes around." US (with this admin) does not want peace and stability around the world. What they really want is confrontations and wars. They say one thing, but pay attention to what they do. Kosovo could have well existed as autonomy and end of possibilities for other minorities around the world to follow the Kosovo Albanian drug trafficker’s example. Hey, should I mention the Palestinian struggle (with violent methods I don't approve) for their own country? Palestinians have no country while the Kosovo Albanians have Albania. Oh, forgot .... that's different. Palestinians are terrorists. The Kosovo Albanians are freedom fighters. US at the present is lead by the most hypocritical people the world can see today. The rule of: "Might is Right" is established and sealed with the Kosovo independence declaration.
This is not about beeing allowed to do it, you obviously have no clue about serbia, first of all, kosovo is like said serbian teretorry which means back when the conflict started serbia was just defeating his own country and we got bombed by UN for doing so.. now they try/want to make a part of serbia independent ?! How can someone even think about doing something like that in 21st century. Also Serbian Prez. Tadic announced that they are against it and will do everything to prevent it but in a polite way, and only thats the reason why they dont do anything.
